oh no look what i started,i should have known i was opening a can of worms lol
look guys im just stating what judy's told me in past shows. everytime i asked her about new freestyle shes told me she wont be doing any. i remember at one of the reunion shows at exit she told me she was done with it. has she changed her mind since then? i dont know cuz that was a few years ago. i stopped asking cuz it was always the same response. i dont mind if she does dance, like i said before i will support her no matter what cuz im a huge fan and i love her performances.
im NOT to thrilled about the new single but thats o-k im sure many people will like it, i still wish her luck with it. and i'm still going to the copa show to show her luv and like renee said i'm sure someone will give us a freestyle remix!!
hi renee!
M

i did not mean ditch her literally...sorry if i offended anyone. i like judy's music but her fan base is all freestyle and i understand that she wants to go a different route but what is wrong with including 1 mix? it doesn't mean you still can't be mainstream. Rockell has done it. I'm sure someone will make a freestyle version, but it's not the same... you can put a freestyle beat to many dance songs out there - which has to be downloaded mind you... it's more special on an original cd...

well here is my 2 cents: if the freestyle artists we grew up on what to do house/euro CRAP then forget buying their music.....
support those who are making QUALITY freestyle music in 2004 like ASHLEY and NU IMAGE and JENNIFER GLASS..........

now these people have some TIGHT new FREESTYLE support the freestyle NOT THE CRAP!!!

A simple 3 minute freestyle mix by adam himself would have been more than enolugh to make the single worthwile to the hardcore fans and the rest of the mixes would cater to everyone else.

Bottom Line for marketing and sales: Judy Torres and Collage are music brands associated with freestyle. People giving a second look on theshelve do so because of the association with the music genre.

The sales numbers of this single will serve as another learning lesson to Adam and the label not to make this mistake again. Keep it a dance release but include a freestyle mix :band

I agree francis. it wa hyped on this freestyle site and thus the nt so positive feedback on the freestyless release.

If this single is not Freestyle, why this thread is on the Freestyle talk?

I'm confused! LOL 🙂

Yes, it was hyped. Reading the post from JPARKER...i was very exited, seeing Judy Torres, Collage on Robbins Ent. - you automatically think EXCELLENT POLISHED FREESTYLE and then finding out it wasn't freestyle, let alone no freestyle mix...BIG DISSAPOINTMENT! Robbins is such a great record company - not sure why this happened. Anyway, this post did not belong here...this is a freestyle website... i'll wait for the generic, amateur freestyle mix of the song.

Judys song rocks I like it a lot what everyone has to do is call ktu and request it its a hott song!!!!!! :mdance

I love it too, i can't belive everyone else is not feeling it, that is a beautiful song and the beat is awesome. Everyone is just use to hearing Judy do Freestyle, open your ears a little and think out the box guys. THat song is hott!

Renee,

Honestly I love Judy Torres as a Freestyle artist...because I like Freestyle. So, I don't care if she decided to go to an another genre. I wish Judy all the best...but personally if this single doesn't contain any Freestyle version I WON'T buy...as simple as that!

Once again it's not only a question of name...but mostly a question of musical style! I love Freestyle music, so I buy Freestyle. You know what I mean. :typing

Take care.

Ya i hear ya. That is your choice. Just for curiosity, you don't listen to nothing else but freestyle? You don't listen to hip hop or r&B?

I wish there was at least a breakbeat version. I will still buy it. I just hope there is at least one decent mix.

Its a cool song.
A freestyle or breaks version would have been hot, and I think would have helped sales a little bit. But either way its cool.
The hardcore freestyle fan base of today is too small to be detrimental to her career.
Most of the people who were her fans 10 years ago arent buying freestyle anymore. So I dont think this type of song was a bad move at all. Those who remember her will be curious to hear the song and if they like it they will buy it🙂

My two cent's and a simple solution

In my opinion.......Basic marketing principles state that when marketing a product, it is always wise to cater to as large an audience as posible and doing so in the most economical way available. Also, every marketing principle warns against false advertising or deceptive advertising.

1. If there was a freestyle remix, the single would almost certainly sell an additional 3 to 4 thousand cd singles. Now I don't know what JParker's financing budgets are for a single, but paying a producer $1000 for a remix that would have made him an extra $8000 in additional revenue is a no brainer.

2. If he was hoping to get support from Judy's past fans, then he should at least give them something they can listen too. If not, then why bother promoting a Dance single in a freestyle forum. Neglecting to provide a freestyle mix can only serve to alienate her old fans.

Providing a freestyle mix wouldn't have hurt Judy's new single in any way.

So I propose a simple remedy, petition the label to release the accapella to the freestyle community. I don't know about the other producers in this forum, but I have always wanted to work with an artist of Judy's caliber and past acheivments. And if doing a remix for FREE.....I'll say again.....FREE, was a way of attaining that dream, then so be it. It will be my way of giving back to a freestyle community that has given so much to me in the past.

I think they now know that this was a big mistake on their part. When I first heard of the single, I called a few music stores and said they could order it...it's good i didn't order it because I found out that there was no freestyle mix here, so I said forget it. I listen to dance music, this song is good but not good enough for me to buy...it needed the freestyle mix, it's what i listen to the most. i don't see how not giving support is negative? nobody here is saying she sucks and blah blah...all we wanted was a freestyle mix... i feel like i'm saying the same thing with every post and not getting anywhere but hopefully this mistake won't happen again...

Additional remedies

How about this.......Take a vote on who everyone in Clubfreestyle would like to see do a remix of the song such as Willie Valentine, Edwin Ramos, Santana Twins, Pete "DOS" Othman, or any of the other new and up and coming freestyle producers and have them do a remix. Get some edits done by Paradise, Dave" The One" Mendez and other "Edits gone wild" editors and release a promo cd single. Then see which cd single gets more play or request. What's it gonna cost.......$500 bucks.

It's up to you, the freestyle fans, to voice your opinion to the labels. If a label is smart, it listens to it's potential customers for feedback on how to better it's product. It's not to late to right a wrong. Let JPaker know your dissatifaction with the single.

Let Judy know, you the loyal fans, are unhappy with the fact that she has forgot her true loyal fans. JPaker must remember, the dance market is very fickle now and loyalty amongst those fans last until the next hot Dance track comes along.

When the dust settles and the single loses the airplay it gets, she'll still have her die-hard fans listening to her freestyle remixes. Care to wager?
I know I still pump "COME INTO MY ARMS" and "NO REASON TO CRY" in my car. Even after 12 years from it's release. When's the last time you pumped "Work it to the Bone" or "Lover who rocks you all nite" by India. Both were hits back in the day, but I think the answer is obvious.

Give us our Freestyle mixes..................WHAT HARM COULD IT DO?

I vote for the SANTANATWINS and Pete DOS!!!!!!!! 😉

Edits by Paradise would be SLAMMIN!!!!!!
