Jose Conseco believes The Sosa Corking situation is racist

Last night on ESPN/Outside The Lines Nightly, Bob Ley was interviewing Jose Conceco. Conseco believes that's the media is showing racisim about Sammy Sosa's cork bat situation. He say that; the media is hammering Sosa because he's a minority. He thinks that a white player would not be under that much critisim.

I know that sometimes race do play a part, but I do not look at race in this. Sammy did it, he should pay the price. Let me remind you, in 1998, Mark McGuire was hammered by the press about him using androids to help his HR performance. In my opinion, if it turns up that Mark McGuire was using steriods, I think he would face the biggest backlash ever. It would be a bigger backlash than Sosa's.

Now Pedro Martinez(Red Sox) is jumping in agreeing with Conseco. He also spoke on Outside The Lines last night. He thinks that the mainstream white media would have let Mark McGuire slide and not slam him like they are doing with Sosa.
