I hear ya, Randi BUT to me, they were just another passing fad (and i knew there were going to go just as fast as they came!)

but they werent the originators of "boy bands". There were plenty of others (JACKSON 5, DURAN DURAN, MENUDO)The list can go and on.

And for the record, I loved TIFFANY & DEBBIE, TOO! 😉

Ok Kenny, u are right...there were boy bands before NKOTB, including the ones u mentioned and New Edition, as well. But they were the really the only ones around at the time they reached the height of their popularity in 1989, 1990. And even members of BSB and N-Sync, such as Justin Timberlake, have said that New Kids influenced them. But its cool Kenny, because I know most guys hated New Kids lol I even remember some kid in high school wearing some kind of t-shirt that had very derogatory things about New Kids on it lol

And even though they were only around for a few years, some of the members of New Kids are still enjoying success today...especially Donnie Wahlberg who has become a very good actor. And dont forget that Joe and Jordan had successful solo albums. So there lol Hang tough Kenny 🙂

i bet a lot of the cf'ers didn't know that the new kids did a freestyle song, produced my chris barbosa and mark ligett, can out 1990-91

There was a 1992 remix of a song called "My Favourite Girl" which had a heavy freestyle influence. Is that the song you're referring to?

A few songs on the New Kids Remix Album were done by Chris Barbosa...but I do think the remix of "My Favorite Girl" was the most freestyle sounding.

Im glad ya understand, Freestygal! you know i was never a fan of thiers. all i saw were young little girls that were into them. I dont think I ever met anyone my age that liked them. again, no offense.

Hey Kenny...it's no biggie, really!! And anyway...it's not like I even listen to their music anymore!!! I just have very good memories of them! But u have to admit 1 thing...it was pretty cool that they had freestyle acts opening for them! 🙂

I cant imagine them doing freestyle! but, the sound was in and they should have done it but it was in 92? i think thier fan base was very thin by then. oh well, at least they tried! (dont think ill be caught dead listening to them, however!😉)
