A; It hard to explain because it reminded me of the glory days of Freestyle, to see all those screaming fans and knowing that they consist of all ages is a reality that I am so grateful for. The energy, excitement, support, fans, friends and performers just the night it self was a dream come true. For a moment I felt as if, it could be another chance at stardom. Sal, watching the other performers really inspired me, I know you saw their faces before and after their performances and it spoke volumes to anyone and everyone that was there that night. It was incredible to see each and every performer and their supporters behind and encouraging them.That is a once in a life time thing to witness. Thank you KTU for knowing and allowing us to showcase our new material, and keeping careers alive. The future looks bright!
Q; The new song "Take Me Trough the Night" is being released now in the US. Tell us what is the difference between this track and prior ones?
A; It a smash…period paragraph...lol! I love this song because it speaks about more than just love; it speaks about hope after a tragedy. Recorded and mixed at Mabu's Tonstudio in Germany, vocals by the one and only (me), written by Kisitu, David / Spirakos, Thomas / Boulaghmal, Ismail, plus special mixes by Robbie (Rave mix)/ and Tanassi Koulids / Theo "T.C." Chalkias (Freestyle mix), this one is sending a message of hope to people in need. That is what sets this song apart from the prior ones. Most of my old songs speak mainly about love, and rightfully so. But I have much more to offer these days than just love, that is what this song is about. Hope! The musical styles are trend setters. This is one of my trade marks which I wished to keep. I desire to impact this industry with music that makes you move and learn from. I'm not much for following, but I do love a challenge. And in this competitive industry of music there is no room for slackers. One word I love to use is…creativity, music is art to me. So I want to paint a portrait that speaks to today's generation, but at the same time preserve the essence of its origin.
Q; I know that you are excited about this track, and rumor has it that you will be promoting this record nationally soon?
A; Yes, and fact is that it is already being played on radio in Europe. I understand that it is still premature to speculate on it`s demise. But I feel great about this song. So far reports from reviewers are favoring the song and giving it a "watch out of this one" type attitude, Europe loves it. Reaction from the industry in America is intense. From Promoters to Radio jocks even booking agents are very excite for me. They have shared their opinion to me about being prepared and not blowing this one.That is precious to me. This will be the first successful nationally release song in my career. And I am excited. The New York crowd already got a taste of the song, and I have received nothing but praise about it, and support for the song is coming in from everywhere with regards to different levels of support, Radio, Promoters, Booking Agents, Management, the Fans…ect. Q; How many years has it been that you have been rockin stages around the world?
A; Let me put things in perspective; I have been on stage since 1988 of August, till today. Now I did retire in 1995 but I still from time to time would do a show here and there. But during my retirement I was still fully engaged in singing. I was in choir, improving my vocals and learning more about music. Music is a part of me; it's what I was designed for. So in a nut shell, I have been on stage for 15 years.
Q;I feel like all this started yesterday?
A;I feel the same.
Q; Most people don't know this, but you have been touring in Germany throughout the last year?
A; And it has been a once in a life time experience. First off they had never experienced my show, and as you all know the energizer bunny doesn't have a chance with me. When I got on stage they cheered, but it was a cheer of who is this or what is he going to do? But once my energy hit them and sang my songs which they loved, it impacted them in a way they were not expecting? They went nuts! The crowd was awesome, man I didn't even have to sing anything, and they sang it for me. Sal, if you ever want to experience something incredible it was fabulous. Since then I have been to Germany many times and plans are in the works for an up coming tour again in the near future?
