On one of my other threads, some of us started posting our feelings about Playstation 2, X Box, and other game systems. It had nothing to do with the thread. So I decided to start a thread all about "Game Systems".

Some of you may have given a game system as a christmas gift to your child or children and now find how frustrating it can be to both the kids and you. At first, it's brand new and they're all excited. They can't wait to play. You find it to be as a sort of "temporary babysitter" because it keeps the kids out of your hair and you can clean, cook and take care of anything. But once they're in it, it's over! If you try to get them off the system, you get temper tantrums, attitudes, crying, etc. If the kids are playing their favorite games, they still get attitudes, cry, lose control of their temper, etc. because they can't beat the "level" to get to the next.

This is a problem. How many of you have experienced this so far with your kids? Or has your experience been okay so far where you haven't experienced this yet?

well its crazy with my newphew from the time he comes home from school till he go's home when its time to eat he dose not wanna come down and dose not wanna turn the game off .

My kidz have Gamecube...... they play every now & then..... U just gotta set limits like everything else.... 🙂

LaBetty! I have this problem with my lil brother! He's 24! LMAO!!!!!!! My dad has to threaten to throw the game out the window in order for him to calm down! :stoned

It's actually pretty funny! For the kids though...it's a lil too much! :crap I feel for those parents.

AMEN!!! I TOTALLY AGREE WITH SIETZ!! I FOR ONE DO NOT LET MY KIDS PLAY GAME CUBE ON WEEKDAYS DURING SCHOOL...ONLY ON THE WEEKENDS!! AND I LIMIT IT TO A COUPLE OF HOURS....BUT HUBS LETS THEM BE ON, IT COULD BE ALLLLL FREAKIN DAY!!! I DON'T LIKE THAT AT ALL!! I SAY THEY CAN BE READING A BOOK OR SOMETHING!! :jiggy

yeah my little one was becoming addicted also, but i have given him a time limit and the days he can play. and when school starts again he can only play for an hour and that's after he does his homework and eats dinner and takes a bath. he's not liking me right now..lol

it's called strategy, they make all these things that will grab our kids attention, so that all they want to do is play them and not do thier school work, meanwhile thier kids are working everyday at school learning to be great scientists!..LOLOLOL

I don't think that. It's all up to the parents to put restrictions on when their kids are allowed to play with games. Like some of you put restrictions which is great.

But I don't like to hear when parents say their kids are fat blah blah blah, and blame everyone else. They should look at themselves. Don't have the games, T.V. babysit your kids. Let the kids play outside, play board games, read, like we all did. I laugh when I hear parents get upset because their kids are always playing games. Damn, whos the parent.

Sorry had to vent. I'm not saying is you guys I just hate it when parents complain so much. S**t be a damn parent.

well Labetty and i were both joking Latinocop, I understand what you mean, It is the parents responsibility to make sure the children are in the right direction, I am for that 100%, and I also can't stand it when some parents go and point fingers, that is true. If they are of superior knowledge they have earned it. Trust me even if I didn't have NYPRCAN constantly drilling things into my head about the childrens education, that always comes first to me, and what they do reflects on me and how I am raising them.
