Ok, here ya go.

We've had some songs talked about here that raised the debate as to whether or not they are freestyle.

Allow me to add two more to that list.

#1. Tia-"Boy Toy", I've heard people describe this song as a "borderline" song, kind of freestyle, kind of not. I'm on the fence on this one, not sure.

#2. Wish featuring Fonda Rae-"Touch Me", this was remade by Cathy Dennis in the 90's as "(All Night Long) Touch Me". I heard this orginal in a mix on a radio station, and it was mixed into some freestyle songs, and it just sounded like it fit.

Now remember, just express your opinions, and be respectful of everyones points.

Let the debate begin.

I see no one's responded so let me be the first...

Haven't heard either one of these songs! :lol Sorry I can't help! 😛

I never heard the first one but I think the Wish track is REAL early freestyle. It's got a lot of the same sounds as "Let The Music Play" & "I Wonder..." did. Those all came out around the same time I think.

Chuck, man, yo radio station is TIGHT! lol I clicked ur link n downloaded the player. It's kewl to hear some freestyle radio, we gets NO freestyle in D.C. The one radio station that did play freestyle from time to time, changed it's format. Go figure! But nice to be able to hear stuff I don't already have every now and again.

Ok, I got some...

Montage - I Need Your Love
Cynthia - Thinking About You
TKA - when Will I See You Again (Any version)

All great songs and good music, just wondering.

I've never heard "Boy Toy"....but WISH ft. Fonda Rae's "Touch Me" is one my favorite classic jams that truly represents early club music, that also represents the New York sound....I'm sure it was hot back in the day at Bentley's, The Roxy, The Palladium, Danceteria....in '83....'84. Fonda Rae is also the voice behind that mix-show joint "Over Like A Fat Rat" and gained her stardom for that too.

Is it Freestyle? To many of us, possibly.....to other's early "Classic" club......

I Have The Yellow 12" Of Boy Toy In My Collection And I Definetly Believe It's Freestyle. There Were A Lot Of Songs That Didn't Have That Repetitive Planet Rock Sound That Are Freestyle Songs. Such As Hungry For You Love, Let The Music Play, Or Any T.k.a. Song.

Dhar Braxton - jump back is this freestyle? have this on a thump records comp freestyle explosion v7 with sidewalk talking and touch me - fonda ray

"Touch Me" I would consider a 'classic' early Freestyle jam.
It was played with the early Freestyle & Breakdance records at the time, & is still featured on some oldschool Electro & Freestyle comps.
