Meanwhile, there are already people here who are complaining about artists not being inducted, who you think should be inducted for various reasons. True, there are probably dozens of other artists who should be inducted, but since we will only be doing 6 per year, it may take a few years before some of your personal favorites get inducted. How about giving it a chance first, rather than saying that it's bogus before it is even fully formed. How about recognizing the accomplishments of the 6 artists we have chosen to induct, rather than saying that none of us know anything.

When we sent out our mass-mailing email message asking people to make a donation, or to join the committe to help create the Freestyle Hall of Honor, I only recall 2 people from this message board volunteering to help out.

I hear ya on this one krackajack. We cant expect everyone we personally like to be on the first list of 6. I personally think George Lamond should be on there but I know he will be in time. This is a great Idea and I wish you the best on this whole thing. We should all be patient and give krackajack a break. Lets support this and on the next 6 we should all vote and maybe you'll get your personal favorites on there as well.
 
Every singer/group on that list is deserving of the honor. We all have faves that we love...I love SaFire and George LaMond too...however, Im sure they will be honored in due time, as well. Its nice to see that such a thing as this exists, anyway!

THis is a great idea and although I dont know who the voters are or who is on this inductee committee I was never contacted in any way about this or aware such a commitee was being created I wish ya nothign but the best but I would have to say that whomever is inducted should be based on overall accomplishments worldwide recognition . The artist who should be inducted shuold be artist who have accomplished big time and when I say that I mean more then getting booked for every show or for being someones personal favorite. The artist that should be recognized should be those artist such as Nayobe and Lisa Lisa who are considered to be the first in the game TKA, Safire, George Lamond for there worldwide success those people who got on those talk shows recieved awards were known outside the FS world Sweet Sensation etc. A lot times people go with there personal favorites rather then looking at those artist that actuallly crossed borders on radio. there are a lot of artist that made noise brought attention to the genre and really accomplished more then just being everyones favorite act booked for a show or cutest artist. Again much love to those putting this thign together ad as I have learned ya cant please everyone so do you.

There are more people who should be added to that list. You are missing some names here. Maybe you should do a list with more legends? Just a suggestion.
 
this project should not be stuck with the classics only. It should also represent global activity rather than just american freestyle and represent producers, remixers as well as artists.

All of the artists being suggested here will be taken into consideration for the 2007 induction, if we manage to make it that far. This year, the selections were based on votes from committee members, surveys that were sent out by email, and liner notes from various freestyle compilation CD's. It may be done a little differently next time. Right now, there are no plans to induct anyone other than recording artists, but other categories may be added in the future.
