I would like to clear up the rumor...Celia Cruz is not A member or has been member of Santeria...my best friend is her cousin, and he said that she is a strong christian believer ....
 
umm..u can be a christian and still be into santeria. it's been very well known for years that celia in into the religion. it's just that most artists can't really admit it to the public because of some christians being so against the religion. u have to admit...there are way more christians than there are santeros. admiting her involvement could affect record sales unfortunately. i say who cares...it's all luv.
 
I agree with you Junito, she has been a santera for years. but as you said the record companies think it would hurt thier image if she was a practicing santera. Have you ever seen her in complete black? there is a reason for that. Just as Iris Chacon is in the religion also. I met her padrino.

btw...i saw india yesterday when she did her free show at Metro Tech. she sang a bit of love and happiness acapella. sounded great as usual.
 
White represents purity and cleanliness. When you have santo done it you dress in white all year to clean yourself of all the negative. Black attracts the negative in your life. Thats why in this religion they say to dress in light colors. Only if you must then you wear black. I am not a santera but I do practice the religion. I haven't gone thru all the necessary steps to become a santera. But I will tell you that since staying away from black alot of things in my life are better. I am not saying that I don't wear black but I seldom do. I hope that helped😀
 
See I knew. Hey Tito I just wanna tell you I think your dad was awesome. I loved him because he would give us free concerts when I was livin up in manhattan a long time ago. He always gave back to the latinos. I think you are awesome too. not to mention your are soooooo fine! lol! Thank you for following in his steps. I know he was proud!

not for nething but it just really annoys the f*ck out of me
when a pop,freestyle, dance artist is known to take or have taken ANY type of drugs it looked upon negatively and the bad press astarts
a hip hop or rock artist does drugs they are pardoned or even glorified who cares all i can say is THE UP IN SMOKE TOUR like if that had been a dance artist it wouldve been the end...think raves arent they always trying to shut them down
i just think if one is looked down upon so should all....
 
U know what Gina, it's sad when artist have nothin' better to do with their money besides gettin' high. When u enter into the world of music, television, movies, etc. drugs is the easy thing to get. Personally I loved the way India sings & half of these artists, what they do in their personal should be kept behind closed doors but apparently these artist dont care or are just plain stupid to realize that they are in the lime light now & that alllll eyes are watchin' them.
