Anthony, im strictly "OLD SCHOOL". Just about every old school freestyle song had meaning to me back in the day. they helped me through some tough times. I can relate to many of the songs with an incident that happened.

when the new stuff came out, they didnt have an affect on me. it only left me with bad memories of "why is freestyle so dead on the radio?" and these songs just helped me come to that conclusion.

I understand that completely. I'm strictly old school as well, and get the same feelings. I suppose it depends on when you feel new school started. For me, 92/93 and up is new school. All the Philly artists named (DTU, Dulaio Twins, Full Afekt, Pure Pleasure, etc are fom 90/91). Also, Spirit Matter and Midnight Fantasy are late 80's. Inferno and Robbie ("Tears I Shed" by Robbie...he had 2 others which are not as rare) are ultra rare songs from 92/93 that have an old school feel and are incredible songs. I can send you those 2 on a CDR (you'll never find the 12" of them...and they are not on any CD compilation either) if you'd like. I'm 95% sure you'd love those two songs.

TRUE ANTHONY, many of the 90-91 songs you mentioned got very little radio play and my memory fails me. if it didnt impact me in a certain way, i totally would forget them.

I wouldnt be sure about not getting 12's.....my dj parnter used to own 2 record stores and he was able to get me any 12" i asked him!! he still has about 15,000 records left from his old inventory! (he used to work for ZYX when they were located on Long Island, too!)

Bella - you weren't paying attention!!!

Anthony - I guess we can get a good feel for the type of Freestyle that everyone prefers by their lists...

I find it unfortunate that most people only want to see the artists who were once mainstream enough to receive radio airplay and were featured on the Tommy Boy compilations...There is more Freestyle out there than what Tommy Boy put on those CDs. 🙂

AnthonyA and uncle Rhoq can school anyone who would like a free education in our class "Seldomly Heard, Rare As Hell, Hard To Find Kick Ass Freestyle 101"

School is now in session, lol

oh i forgot CHRISSY I-EECE personally she would be my # 1 choice
actually i did see her live .... lol she sang "love desire" club EXIT 2000------ legends of freestyle concert...........

Okay okay Rhoq - I missed it #4 will do...

I believe if I go into my old bag of Freestyle music, I will stump if not one of you, both..

There are other old-playskoolers here heheeeeeeee

Ahhhhhhhh - let me get the trivia ready..
