Well

I think his point was... if that's what your going to do (all the things that D said he was going to do), then just do it. Why as an artist come across like your having low expectations about other artist. Why even post that at all until after you listen to it. The comments came after a slew of positivity from the CF crew and I guess Kay sensed mal content on D's part.

D what's your take?

I mean what did you really want to say? Your on our side in all the hatred you saw right?
I hope/think you meant well.

wow

That was So groovy that you could set the record straight to all the haters. And much incouragment to people who want to be like you.
much love
muah!
😛

Its all good

Yo K, On the real, the Cd ain't doing as good as you guys thought so take advantage of the love you getting on the strength of your past material and use it to your advantage .....Close minded fan base?...hmmm If its not broke, don't fix it. Feel me? You can do what hasn't been done in a long time...Take advantage now. Tka had that chance but blew it...Its up to you now! Get with real producers who know you and your style, Carlos Berrios, Willie Valentin, Artie Rodriguez, The Santana twins, Tony Moran and many others, Some of these guys who do music for you for FREE because they know that with you behind the mic its a sure hit. Leave that jumprope sound alone, that's wack. I have always kept it thorough and tell it like it is...I won't kiss ass like most people when I know in my heart you can do so much better. .... ....We have enough Pop artist, enough R&B, enough Hiphop but one thing we don't have and We all know the answer to that is----. I won't discuss TKA because the group was open for discussion when they did Freestyle what they did on the last is cornbread.... Do you K, make it happen, FREESTYLE FOREVER
and so on,,,and so on.

Some People...

Need to get they're own lives..and go and record an album that they want to hear.
If you know so much, and so many people, you can call all the producers you want and let's see the hype on the 'Rob From Brooklyn' album. I doubt that would ever happen so I guess we can count on somemore of the comments of a true fan in denial. Keep it coming playa we need more to talk about.

Cyber Thugs....🙄

for real...knowing d from online and stuff i am 100% sure that he meant nothing bad by it...i know he even plays tka on his show!!!!!

i think he was just saying he wont say anything GOOD or BAD without hearing the whole thing...which is a great place to stand...i dont think it should at all be taken in the wrong way

I will judge The Final produced with my ears, and my eyes. Even these post above I haven't read.

Good Luck with your Street date.

Ooooh, Ty it looks like your gonna have to invite Delicious D, and Rob from Brooklyn to your little one night ceremony too. 😉

D First, Rob Second

I'll give anyone the benefit of the doubt so I would truly like to know what Mr. D was trying to say.... as for Rob from Brooklyn - perdona me dios mio - here goes...you get on this page trying to tell me how to do my job or as you put it "doing me". You try to tell me who to work with when, in all reality, last I looked I'm considered by some to be one of the key inventors of your favorite type of music. I don't like believing this type of hype. I consider myself to be an artist and that is my job. Therefore, I work hard to get my job done. No one knows how to be TKA or make TKA-type of music other than TKA. Styles of music come and go just like the seasons and you have to adapt to the change. It seems that you're more a fan of the TKA that existed from 1986 - 1992 and that's all well and good. However, it is the year 2001 and I have to make music that appeals to today's era.

If you read my original post you would see that the accomplishment of this album was done on a shoe string budget and all the producers of which you mentioned, with the exception of some, do not meet my expectations of what a good TKA album would be. That's not to say that they don't have talent but it just was not my desire to work with them. Now you think you know what a good TKA album is...you were probably one of the original haters back in the early '90's that didn't begin to love the sound until it was dead and gone. You have to start somewhere to get anywhere and this is a new start for TKA. It would be great to rewind time and pick up where we left off - right after Maria - but that's impossible and you know it. It seems that you're one of many that does not really want to be happy at the advent of our return. Would you be happy if I did planet rock again for the millionth time? What creativity would lie behind that? What would your post be then? Why aren't you complaining about Marc Anthony? George Lamond? Brenda K. Starr? India? They are not doing freestyle yet they capitalized off of the freestyle era...what do you have to say about them?

In the past year, I've come on this site and spoke the truth about the style of music that we were going to do. I had people like you and Rhoq totally crumb us and begin a slander campaign on the fact that we were traitors to freestyle. When in reality fans such as yourself are the ones who should be considered the traitors. This is my baby...how do I expect it not to mature into adulthood? And that process could only happen by that child coming to it on its own...by my nurturing. With that analogy, what do you think freestyle really is? I challenge you to tell me what can you do - other than hate - to make this evolution possible? What type of nurturing can you provide that will bring freestyle to the forefront of the music industry once and for all?

You can drive in your car and pump your system with timber's greatest freestyle hits 'til you're blue in the face but you ain't going to bring that era back unless you support these freestyle artists in a positive way. Is there any website that talks about the music from the '50's, '60's or '70's where the artists are hated on because they've decided to continue making music to fit the times? I recall not! I don't see you complaining about the copy cat sound of the '80's and '90's...how every beat from certain labels sounded like "Come get my Love"...how every record had to have a reference to tears falling from someone's eyes...how every solo male artist had to try to be George Lamond and every 3 girl or guy group wanted to be Sweet Sensation or TKA.

You log onto this site and waste your time with pure negativity. Why don't you do something positive with yourself and your time instead? I feel like you and all the haters are spitting collectively in my face when you try to tell me how to do my job. For so many years TKA and other artists have done it so well that now you got some place to go when you get out of work to speak about your favorite music. By the way, when did you start working at sound scan to tell me if my record is doing good after one day of sales? You must not know anything about the music business to make this assumption on such short notice...but so is life and WHAT IS, IS!!!!!!!!! K7

i finally picked the album up today....i love it..even feel the music has grown on me....i feel like i have something in my hands that is refreshing not one remake!!! not one remix !! not one planet rock loop!!!..in addition all the songs are great..somebody pinch me i must be dreaming..its been a long time since i put my money down for a cd and felt ive gotten my moneys worth...thank you for far exceeding my expectations..ill probably spend the next few days doing what i did with all your songs ..memorizing the lyrics..again wish you guys much success..and although initally i made some negative comments a few months ago when i first heard feel the music..i had no idea what was to come..so i stated i would not comment anymore on the subject until i heard the album..glad i did or i would have looked stupid now...TKA forever indeed...peace😀

This..

is extremely confusing to me. What is the problem with growth? Artist should have the right to venture new water's, and true fans should support them, wish them continued success and finally thank them for the music they have given us.

TKA, if you guy's do succeed in this different genre, all I can ask of you as a group would be from time to time put out a little something, something for your freestyle TKA fans. If you do not succeed, you will always be welcomed to this freestyle world with open arms.

yo yo yo k-7

Rob - b and Delicious d - Are not very informed - pure non sence

You two are intitled to your veiws. k - why are you giving these two the time of day. they are stuck in a time zone and no one can save them.

yo the dance music market is in trouble k.

why do you bring lamond into this, why???

sure he crossed over, but he STILL PLAYS FREESTYLE IN CLUBS, he gave us a freestyle album, and he is still true to the freestyle fans...mostly every show he does he is willing to do freestyle songs for the fans that want it!!!!! even when its at a salsa proformance!!!!!

he never went anywhere saying, well u know without u and where does that leave love isnt really freestyle...you guys just took it as a freestyle song...NEVER EVER EVER WOULD he down play it...he has never denied himself as a freestyle artist...its the way he carries himself in both genres...not needing to downplay either of them to anybody!!!! i feel he has stayed true to his fans...and thats it...so once again i have no clue why u people bring him into it!!!! dont look for excuses to defend something else...when u are speaking about two diffrent things...apples and oranges 🙄

Oh Yeah!

I've been waiting for this one for a long time!

K7, toni, toni, meet K7...

Here we go!!😱

Ah, finally...My nemesis!

Hi toni,

It's a pleasure to meet you finally. I appreciate your wonderful post about how you like the album, and I had a chuckle about every other post that you have written that condemned me. I value your opinion of me, negative as it may seem. Though I question why, because you should value mine. If you read my post well, you will realize that I am not condemning George or any other band. George is a personal friend who I respect and admire. My thing is that I notice that none of you on this site is hating the fact that they have crossed the musical lines from freestyle to Salsa, put yet you judge us for going from freestyle to TKA music. (No real difference) It's no secret that I am your least favorite TKA member, but maybe we should do is have a forum so that you can see how many of your idols share the same opinion about their music that I have about mine. Though we seem to be at odds, toni, most of the time. We seem to be the same person, people who say the truth about how they truly feel. Now I don't expect you to get on the K7 bandwagon, but what I want you to do is come to a realization: Freestyle music needs to grow. We need to realize freestyle music is the feeling behind the artist interpretation of the song, not the music itself. With that in mind realize freestyle has been here with the sounds of 'N"Sync, Pink, George Lamond, Mark Anthony, and others. You hear the Cover Girl/ Cynthia influence in someone like J-Lo. That interetation can come out to be anything from a hip hop record to a classical record. But the one thing is we have to accept is change, and roll with it. By hating on the artist you make us stagnant. You are not doing anything helpful by hating, now I'm not only saying this to you, I'm saying this to the others as well. You make us live in a constant state of paranoia, and at times kill our artistic vigor.

A little tidbit of information: before GL recorded his Salsa album, he recorded an entire album with Robert Cliviles of C&C Music factory, and which would have put him a part of a boy band (BoyzTown), a total non-freestyle album that was more along the lines of R&B/ Pop. The outcome was great, the entire record was great. Will it ever see the light of day? I don't know? Was he able to go beyonfd the confines of the music he started out with? Yes. Imagine what GL's catalogue would have been if he would have had his earlier works, along with the Salsa, R&B/Pop music he was doing?

If you read my post you would know that I am one of Georges biggest fan's. When he got into this music, he stepped up the game. He made everyone rethink what a good record was with 'Bad of the Heart' and "Without You". But since then, there haven't been many groups that have done that, and that's over ten years ago! What does that say? That's mostly anyone, who had anythig to do with freestyle was working under the same formula. For all the talent that they have/had, and all the talent they could've exuded...the fear of letting you down, has stunted the desire and ability to let these artist reach their full potential. We wanna be current, not just re-current. We loved the then, but we live in the now.

Until the next time you hate on me...I love you with all my heart. Kisses to you my beloved toni, but WHAT IS, IS.....K7

Music is music

Freestyle, pop, house, trance, salsa..etc.etc.
Music is music...The only catagory it should have is "Dance Music!"
Why cant we all Dance and freak each other on the dance floor...
😉 😛

To Tybless and K7

I ve always said that freestyle fans are hard to please, and I did a thread on this topic a few months ago, and got different responses, but I must admit that certain fans take it to the next level where I think they should open their mind to growth and other forms of music, Example would be lets say if Victor Manuelle which is a salsa singer decides to do a bachata song, me being a avid fan of him am I going to be upset that he did a bachata song, maybe it depends, cause I am so used to him just doing strictly salsa, but if it sounds good, then chances are that I will like it, or lets say if Incubus, Staind, Linkim Park, decide to do dance music, me also being a fan of them, will I be upset maybe, again I am so used them doing their own thing, but if it sounds good I will like it and give it a chance.
I and every freestyle fan would like to see that era that gave us the good memories where freestyle was happening, but you know what times have changed and the music world is different today, you have teenagers that are into Britney and all the boy bands that are out there, so its very competive market, look at Michael Jackson the King of pop has to do tv appearances, concerts, in store interviews, he has to promote this album in order for it to meet the record labels expectations, even big hip hop artist have it tough, so for anyone to come out and bash TKA and what they are trying to accomplish makes no sense, and yes again everyone is entitled to an opnion, but I think this TKA subject is over talked about,,,,,I bought the album and yes indeed met my expectations, there is diversity on the album, there is creativity, K7, TOny, and Angel their voices matured, from the early 90's my favs are Sexual Fantasy and of course When will I see you again...put it this way the whole album is phat.....I actually bought 3 cds of it one for me and the other 2 are for my sister and my cousin for, avid tka fans although they are in their early 30s, they have good memories of the past, so that will be my xmas gift to them, I am sure they will be delighted, especially when I am sick and tired of hearing the greatest hits album everytime there is a gathering at their house, I know I am rambling, but damm, give this subject a break, and I hope to God this album goes Gold or better......again Good luck to TKA and Tybless...peace.....
