Reber be nice, the object here is to see everyones pics. Not to knock anyones off I've been trying to figure out why people are complaining about their pics not showing and thats the reason.
I asked nicely so I'd appreciate if everyone cooperated. thats all. Please. There are pics that no one has deleted and they were real nice and boom you see them then they are gone. I for one put up one several times and it never showed and then I tried again. No need for that. I love everyones pics including yours. So all I'm saying is please don't link. Muah! Much NUB.😛

Lamatrix.....I'm not being a smart ass. Actually, I was being quite serious. Because Linking a photo does not take up server space. Uploading a photo does. When you link a photo, the physical photo iteself remains at the origianl URL, you providing a "Link" redirects the server to show that photo at the Pics URL. Hense the term, "Link".
Ex: Hit the "IMG" button, it will ask for the "URL" of where the Picture is located.

Now when you Upload a Pic, you are physically Sending a photo from your Hard Drive to the server's hard drive for viewing. Thus taking up valuable server space. Which is one of the many reason why Pics being uploaded should be in "Gif" or "JPG" format as opposed to "BMP" format. Which is also another reason why it is easier to link then to Upload.

Yes and No.
You wont because it is loaded into your Internet Cache Folder. Now most of the time, your Browser does what is called a URL request for updating purposes. When it cannot reach the URL, then yes, you will see the little "red X".

Certain sites like "Tripod" and "Geocities" forbids JPG Linking. That's when you see the Logos instead of the Pic itself. To the individual trying to post the pic, he will see (Most of the time) the pic, because like I said, it is in the Cache folder. Untill he shuts his browser down then he'll notice the logo sign instead of the Pic he wanted.

That's why you use links of places you know don't do the Dot Com Plung. Besides, you can always delete the photo from the thread.

hey you talkin to me???? I SAID ARE YOU TALKIN TO WAAAA KAAAAAA!!!!!!
