We made it through Ivan just fine. He turned more to the east and left us on the weak side of the storm so all we had here was wind and a slight bit of rain. We lost power about 5am and just got it back about an hour ago. Not complainin cuz it could have taken days.

We had nothing like what the people in Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida panhandle had to deal with. My prayers go out to all that were affected with this storm.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Gulf Cost is preparing for a return visit from a most unwelcome guest.

Remnants of Hurricane Ivan have reformed into a tropical storm that could strike the Louisiana or Texas coast. A tropical storm watch is in place from the mouth of the Mississippi River, west to Sargant, Texas. Residents in low-lying areas have been told to get ready to move to higher ground.

After hitting as a hurricane last Thursday and eventually breaking up, part of the storm moved south, back into the Gulf of Mexico.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Tropical Storm Ivan has 40-mile-per-hour winds and could hit land Thursday night -- dropping heavy rain and raising tides several feet.

Ivan and its remnants were blamed for at least 52 deaths in the United States and 70 in the Caribbean.
