Club Blis report

Que pasa mi gente! I must say it was a very good evening. The energy in the club was over flowing. The show ran in a very orderly fashion. We were let in quickly and security checked us in a well manner.

The host was speedy from KTU. I think he did a poor job of it. He always looked like he was going to stumble on stage. He looked liked he was high or severely drunk from the get go of the show. He couldn't warm up the crowd before intro of artists. He just look so dopey and sloppy on stage. And his antics deterred from the show. Maybe that's just him, you either love him or hate him. But he is representing us, the freestyle community and latinos and he just didn't cut it on a professional level.

ASHLEY started the show. She wore a leather trench & pants, burgundy top. She was nervous, you can tell but warmed up to the crowd nicely. Good performance to start out. I thought she could have brought her voice up a little stronger. Very good song.

Nick Colon: strong voice to bat. Wore a black leather, grey sweater and black jeans. He is a portly guy. Could of passed as a member of Song By 4. Had a good back up dancer. I feel a second dancer would of made the set tighter. His voice just wowed the audience. I can see him making it far in the business and not just freestyle. I can see crossover. Watchout for him.

Jasmin: Burgundy & black open sequin top, hip hugger jeans. She didn't move much on stage. The crowd didn't take to her much. she had an alright voice.

next SPEEDY brought up some ladies from the audience to strut their stuff on the stage. This was a lame act to eat up time and once the two ladies left the stage we were left puzzled as to what was going to be next. There seemed to be confusion on the side of the stage as to who was coming up next. After a long winded intro by SPEEDY it was ........

CORO: He had two great dancers. The girl wore a white j.Lo top with red lettering the # 29, white sweats and red & white shoes. She had long braided hair and wore shades. The guy wore a dark chicago bulls tank #23 white sweats, black & red shoes, and a red doo-rag. They were very well coordinated dancing. CORO was in all black and shades. He was short but he rocked the moves with his dancers in sync. Good stage presence and the crowd sang along with him, loudly in unison to "Where are you tonight" & "Fallen Angel" Great showmanship from CORO and his dancers. Much love was given to him.

next up was another new female artist. Didn't get her name. But wasn't received well by her lifeless performance. She sang "Don't Want to be with you"

At this point we had an intermission. Great set by D.J. LUCHO. Kept the place jumping playing classic hip-hip and R&B and then into some pumping latin house.

Joey Kid: Black suit, wore white shirt out loose, black doo-rag. As he is singing "Counting the days" his voice breaks up as he is stripping off his top and doo-rag. His voice was low from the go. As he sings "Everything I Own" (a 2-step remix version)the crowd is puzzled by his performance as his voice is really struggling to be audible. Then SPEEDY coerces him to sing "Broken Promises" acapella. Crowd not too taken by his performance.

FASCINATION: good dance intro she does with her male dancer. She is wearing a black tube top which is open in the middle, black hip huggers which splits on the ends below the knee. Another female dancer takes over with the guy and then they go off the stage shortly??? during "why You wanna Go" The male dancer appears again and does some sweet moves with FASCINTION. Sort of got the feel like watching Iriz Chacon or Thalia dance routine on t.v. show. During her song "Don't you think it's time" her voice fades and breaks because she is messing with SPEEDY who is doing his dumb antics on the side stage. She should of left him alone because this threw her stage presence and overall performance. She drops her mic while dancing and she nearly takes a spill off the stage while in a shameless dissing session is going on with her and SPEEDY..

LiL Suzy: Black sequin tube top, red hip hugging, sort of spandex pants, looked painted on...Blonde hair...HOT!! Black duster type jacket with fur collar and cuffs. She sang "TAKE me in your Arms" good presence and crowd contact. But when she takes off her jacket you are hit Bang!! POW!! All those curves. Delicious body...yummy (my preference) her voice is more vibrant and stronger for "Promise Me" It seems she just needed a warm up. Nice performance by her.

Kevin Ceballo: great stage presence. You can tell immediately he felt very comfortable being in front of a crowd. He wore a black short sleeve dress shirt worn outside, grey dress pants and black shoes. Has an awesome superb voice as he sang in spanish. "Sigue Bailando" & "Fue Ca Paz" We have the makings of another Marc Anthony in our midst. The ladies were going crazy ga ga for this gentleman. Then the room errupted as he belted out "My first Love" Everyone was singing along with him here.(break out the lighters) SPEEDY distracts Kevin's performance as he is making an ass of himself with his antics with some girls on the side stage. But the crowd truly showed there love for him and the ladies were in heat.

Here SPEEDY tries to warm up the crowd before the next act but fails miserably.

There was another new artist who closed but I missed it because I got to meet mario 5 star and started talking away with him. great guy. Don't know if you are familiar with him in here, but he is humble and we should expect many great things from him to come. he is setting up a project with producer chris barbosa. He was taken by the love we gave to him and the love we have for FREESTYLE.

afetwards DJ LUCHO kept the fire going on with a great set and everyone was in a dancing mood till the end of the night.

props go to ALEX and ANGEL for an awesome promtional event that went smoothly with no incidents.

there's nothing wrong with being honest..and TO be honest, i've seen ALOT better shows than that. i think it had something to do w/ the crowd?? the crowd was DEAD. It's sad that every 2 minutes someone has to scream out LATINOOOOO to get the audience to applaud. I felt bad for the artists-they werent getting the love/attention they deserved.

reggie waddup kid!

Hey every artist is entitled to a "off night" - the fact that SAFIRE showed up, even though she was feeling ill shows dedication to her work and her fans.
