Wow I really guess Spaniards are rare. I consider my self Spaniard, but I know some where along the lines I have other cultures running through me. I have always had trouble saying what I am. Im not sure if im Latino (cause Spain is in Europe), but then again I cant say im white because I dont know any whites that know castillian spanish. You all help me.

I just like to say that , it's very interesting to see different nationality that listen to freestyle...
but majority would be 90% latinos/Italianos , but in TORONTO , CANADA the majority would be Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Lebanese, arabic, very little Filipinos like myself. But it's rare to see black/CANADIAN (white) would listen to freestyle.
It's weird because , it feels that race is divided into music too. Black's would only listen to hip hop or R&B, the Caucasian would listen to rock or metal/ alternative/ and the european/ latinos/other ethnic ,listen to freestyle/ salsa/ dance / house music.. I think people should appreciate freestyle and other typers of music. and more airplay in the radio for freestyle. i do admit that I like to listen to R&B, miami Booty Bass , House, Trance, but freestyle is my first love... the music that makes me happy and a part of my life

I am 25 years old and I was born in Jamaica but came to Lefrak City Queens when I was four and pretty mauch grew up there. I was always the odd person out because in school, the latin and italian kids listened to freestyle and the black kids liked hip hop. I think that the two music styles are very intertwined and I love both, but not very many black kids like myself liked to listen to freestyle. At least it gave me the chance to hange around kids who were not like myself and I learned some culture from lots of my boricua friends who were into it.

Never Thought Of It

I never ever I mean ever thought about freestyle being a predominantly Latino music even though it is, I just never thought of it. Anyway what I am trying to say is, that there are 4 of us in my crew 2 are CBA the deejays (Me, Kool Cutt Kaos & my Partner DJ Slik) & my other 2 boys are the producers The Beat Snatchers. Out of the 4 of us, 3 are Chicano & 1 is 100% Black. They were here earlier tonight & it shocked me when my partner that is black said that he don't like rap, but he loves Freestyle & House music. I guess it's all about who you hang around with. It tends to rub off........LOL
