Joe, what kind of Gemini tables do you have?? Also, what is your opinion of Gemini? I find that people have mixed feelings. Personally, I like Gemini stuff. I have a couple pieces of equipment from them. It's not the best, but it's certainly affordable and gets the job done. But you should save up and get Technics tables. They are the BEST.

my friend sold me the geminis a while back but i cant use them much cause the table i have wont hold everything when i was using them they were ok to me i dont have the money to get the best ones so these will have to do

they are 500 - 2000 my friend sold them to me and did not tell me everything so i did not ask and i was in a hurry for turntables i did not care what they were and now i cant use them

Good thread!

I am in search of the cheapest Direct Driven Turntables! The platos that are usually $100 are belt driven & I've broken too many of those back in the day! Anyone have any suggestions? I just want ONE just to hear my old-skool 12" Freestyle records. Like the dork that I am, I sold my Technics since my DJ retirement, but I left myself with nothing but my records!

I have 1200's but they are not used that much since I got the CDN-88. Although I keep buying records as well as CD's (blank ones...hehe). I keep my 1200's in their road case and use them when the party calls for them. However I have kept an old Gemini XL1800Q turntable hooked up in my make-shift studio/comptuer room. Its used primarily for converting songs from vinyl to digital format such as the MPEG layer 3 format...everybody seems to enjoy. The Gemini turntable is at least 10 years old and I still have a Stanton 680EL cartridge on that bad boy. I like the pitch on the Gemini turntable it is very responsive and has the same tourque as a 1200.
