Gotta say I definitely know what that whole not marketable shit is all about. Been told that by one of cf's own beloved producers. What can you do but let it help you become a better all around performer.
Ignore the assholes that think they know what it takes to be a star.
If they knew don't you think they would be there already.

Another problem

AGE.

Most of the freestyle artists from the past are now in they're late 20's, early 30's right? Entertainment always looking for young talent. Sometimes older people get shut out simply because of age. record companies dont really know how to market someone over the age of 25 because of the whole bubble gum pop explosion that's taken over music. It seem like artists are getting in younger and younger. A lot of people want freestyle in MTV exposure, but why? MTV not really about music anymore and what is is limited to the mainly teen audiences. Many labels dont even try to promote artists over a certain age. I luv the music Robbins Entertainment puts out but is it just a coincidence that Rockell gets to make video after video meanwhile George LaMond and Cynthia haven't?

I read an interview in Rolling Stone where Tweet discussed how hard it was for her to get a break because labels didn't want to take a chance on a 32 year old newcomer. But it has nothing to do with the fact that this girl can sing her ass off! She's putting out amazing stuff now, I would love to see the same chance being given to a freestyle artist.

MARK I HAD TO AGREE WITH YOU ON TWEET THE WOMAN HAS AMAZING TALENT I ALSO READ AN INTERVIEW SHE DID IN THE SOURCE AND I WAS STUNNED OT FIND OUT HOW OLD SHE WAS BECAUSE AS YOU SAID IT IS HARD FOR SOMEONE AT THAT AGE JUST COMING INTO THE BUSINESS TO GET A FAIR SHOT ITS DIFFERENT TO SOME LEVEL WHEN YOUVE BEEN IN THE BUSINESS AND ARE DROPPING ALBUMS AND EVEN THEN THEY BEGIN TO LOOSE THERE APPEAL TO LABELS AND THE NEWER YOUNGER ARTIST BEGIN TO TAKE REIN SO ALL IN ALL IT IS AN UNFAIR INDUSTRY 🙂
