Yeah i think we need to blend all ideas together, Rap is getting stronger every day, come on (6 categories now at the Grammys ?? ) that was unheard of 10 years ago .. The reason why Rap has gotten so strong is their abililty to knock the east/west coast stuff off, and unite and work together .. I see alot of Dre workin with east coast people as well as Snoop .. Randy you are so right. People should start working together. There are alot of ideas in my brain but it is so hard to get them on the computer. it's hard to explain sometimes..But I feel you Randy. I hope someone will do something about it out there. Freestyle needs to be recognized as well as the artist. i'm sure they work so hard along with the people they work with to please the fans. So that's all I have to say..Freestyle need to be up there in one of the categories in the Grammy's. so all we can do is pray.....lol...

To be honest with you the West Coast is very influential also in the freestyle industry .. Texas and California for the past 5 years have been playing freestyle like crazy, when at a time, KTU wasnt playing any freestyle .. Its not about who did what, but its about uniting, I've heard from alot of old school freestyle artists do not like to collaborate, and i find that kinda dissapointing, but hey, thats the biz, im sure everyone has their reasons, but im gonna do my efforts into bringing this freestyle world together some how .. We'll just have 2 wait and see !! take care, randy
 
if this site was based out of texas then there would be a different flavor here. Cuz there are still people here in the west/south coast that have never heard a Coro, Noel, Lyndia Lee Love, or Nayobe, just like there are people who have never heard of brissa, Tez2plez,mila marcil, george patino, danny damian, leo deleon, unison or many other groups. U N I T Y is not just a queen latifa song okayyyyy.
Nobody is better than nobody else, we all just trying to keep the music alive....
 
since KTU got back on the air.....they have always played freestyle! not alot, but they did. now...thanks to JOHNNY BUDZ do we get our freestyle back on the radio!!

Dont worry no ones offended anthony, You bring up some great points and this is one of the better topics i've seen in awhile, i hope alot of other people read this topic, cause bringing people together as one will really help freestyle succeed, i mean, seriously how good does a Lil Suzy/Stevie B duet sound or an Angelina/Coro song, that would be so outrageous ... I mean i know there once was Legends of Freestyle, but why didnt they continue to do it a few more times, it is so possible, and I am working on a project for 2001 with a song featuring at least 6 artists on one track, details will follow .. I dont think it has to do so much with unity, I personally think the reason so many stars get famous is due to the embracement of fans. The west and east coast both do a hell of a job of putting out talent. When I see a cd at a store and its labeled under freestyle.... I will more than gladly buy it. I think part of it also has to do with the label it gets, everytime I have purchased a freestyle cd at a major store it has been in rock/pop catagory, with the execption of one or 2 stores that stocks under dance. The fans also have to alot to really make freestyle big. Im sure Nsync got famous by the over-whelming request there was for them.
Im sure Nsync is`nt all that..... but once you listen to a song for so long it grows on you, therfor making it requested. The points Randy mentioned were great though, to the freestyle community it would be like the 9th wonder of the world if Stevie B did a duet with Lil Suzy. The only thing missing would be the support of the masses. I dont know about you all..... but I personally like the way freestyle is an underground commumity of loyal supporters. Im sure people who are in the business feel different about it because they have to get paid, and that is totally understood. No one hold what I have true to your heart, that is just my opinion.

We need more people like synbad out here. Often imitated but never duplicated should not be the focus... No doubt that NYC is the birth of Freestyle among other genres but I don't think the West Coast is 'Destroying' Freestyle. I think they kept it alive because you don't here a peep of Freestyle here... Except for KTU on Sundays. We must figure out how Freestyle is going to make a comeback. Even if we have to change the format.

appreciate it Infinit1, duets are only as good as the words are. I mean there have been some duets that kinda sucked.
You song writers need to write a song specifically for two artists and then approach the label with it. And as far as getting offended, not happening... This is the whole reaason Johnny and Sam and Jack put up this site. So that ideas and opinions could be expressed and shared. And I'm sure in the hopes that somebody would not just write the idea but actually make the idea work....
