I was watching PBS a few nights ago and I seen this program. I found it to be extremely interesting and full of nostalgia and history. I really don't eat hot dogs , but this show kept me in tuned. Go to PBS.org and find when it is running in your area. It is very fascinating 🙂

Hot Dog Program
This documentary is an all-American celebration of what may be the country's most popular food. From Fairfield, Connecticut, to Los Angeles, California, the program visits some of the nation's coolest hot dog places, taking viewers inside a giant hot dog-shaped building, stopping at some crazy late-night stands, and looking at how hot dogs are made. The special also considers how and when hot dogs became so popular - and surveys the toppings that go on them.

Lol, I am not a official one, but I do enjoy cooking and trying new things. I find it amazing in preparation of food, and what can be done with the mind and 2 hands.

But pls check it out. The main focus is about the East coast, and the amazing history behind it. It is much more then just Hot Dogs, it will serve for wonderful conversation while in a nursing home and you are talking to Nurse Ethel.

I remember they had mentioned it , but never exactly told the reason for that term, =) I wished they knew it, so I have good info about it.


Like with Sloppy Joes, that was created during the great depression, because it was cheap (Meat with lots of fillers)
