Nah...High Power started off on their own, then they were a part of Warlock Records, then they were on their own again. Their last few releases came out through Select Street Records (formerly Select Records) which was a popular Hip-Hop/dance label back in the mid-late `80's...

Select was best known for their rap acts: UTFO, The Real Roxanne, Chubb Rock and Kid 'N Play (anyone remember the House Party movies), the R&B group Whistle and their dance label Active Records which released a few Freestyle classics including "I LOST THE LOVE" by The Girls Club feat. Eileen.

Also released by Select was the Freestyle classic "DON'T TAKE YOUR LOVE FROM ME" by Traces Of Love...

Tony Garcia did have 2 labels that were distributed through Metropolitan which were FUNKY MELODY RECORDS and TG RECORDS - Featuring the material heard on the FOREVER FREESTYLE compilations, which I personally thought was his best stuff since the early days of High Power...
 
Rhoq, i know all the labels on METRO (high power) were loners, but METRO came along and bought them all up. so now they all apear under the METRO name. all the order froms were generic, until they updated them.
 
I know at one time Metropolitan was making 12" singles and full length Casettes and CDs from other labels such as Micmac, High Power, Cutting, Pandisc and others available through their mail order...But as far as Metro actually distributing High Power Records at one time or another is completely news to me!!! I am not going to doubt you because at one time (from 1995-1997) Metro became a Freestyle "power house" and was eating up the competition left and right. Also, with Freestyle nothing really surprises me anymore, lol!!!
 
Wrong!!!!

High Power Records never been distributed by Metro...This label was distributed by Warlock records... H. P. Records is independant since few years now.

Only TG Records and Funky Melody Records were distributed by Metro. 😀

and they even sold the remaining stock of MIC MAC.

THIS IS WHAT THE SALES DEPT. TOLD ME BACK IN 97.
 
Yes they Sold it through thier mail order catalogue but they never had a distribution deal with H.P. ...just TG and Funky Melody

The last I time I spoke to Micky girl and Tony Gracie
they were not doing music anymore.
The last project I believe was for there daughter Crystal Gracie
and they put out a couple of freestyle song for her but that was it.
I don't know if they are still working on it but they were doing some pop stuff for her but with other producers and record comp.
Tony is a Jehovah witness now and does not do music anymore.
That's the last I heard and that's from a couple of months ago.
I hope that helps.
And quadosh is right they did not have a dis.deal with metro it was with warlok rec.metro just sold for them through there mail order.

wait a cotton, pickin minute. i have a huge catalog with stuff from VIPER, METRO, CUTTING ETC. they are selling it through METROPOLITAN. That is a way of cutting out the middle man. alas, they are DISTRIBUTING via METROPOLITAN. that looks like they are distributing. no matter what way you look at it. if you would like, i can give you the # to call for yourself if you have any questions.

its just like the toy comapny HASBRO. they bought up KENNER, TONKA, PARKER BROTHERS and now they redistribute the toys through HASBRO. same deal here with METRO. Its a monopoly!

METRO was "distributing" WARLOCK, TI AMO,VIPER,TAZMANIA ETC. The stores werent doing enough so mail order was essential to "distribute" the cd's. i am looking at a list of cd/albums that they sold. if they ddint have a "distributing" deal, why were they selling them? you cant have one and not the other. they sold cds to the public, hence was "distributing" them. sure looks like a distribution deal there to me!!!

Crazy isn't Naya...lol....But hey to each there own. Metropilitan Never Had a dist. Deal with high Power. Yes Metro sell their stuff but just a like if they were a record store. Ti Amo, Viper, Tg, Funky Melody, and Tazmania where the only ones who had Metro dist. and even Tazmania they didn't carried much off until they sign with them from vol.5 and up. Life is full of suprises, but it was Man. by High Power and Dist. by WARLOCK Records just like Fever....read those little tiny letters on credits...LMAO.... 😱

WELL THE CD'S I WAS TALKING ABOUT WAS THE HP GRESTEST HITS VOL #5 AND SOON TO COME VOL #6 AND THE LAST ONE IS THE FREESTYLE TO THE NEXT MILLINIUM VOL #1 WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THOSE CD'S.... ARE THEY OUT AND ABOUT OR THEY WERE NEVER FINISHED ... LET ME KNOW... SOMEONE PELASE ANSWER... ANY INFOMON THESE CD'S....LOL..
