This is really sad.. Looking at the pictures there isnt anything left of the aircraft... Earlier Sunday a Helios flight into Athens smashed into a mountain killing all onboard. Unfortunately to say, as I mentioned before, these do happen in 3's... This would be the third after Air France in Toronto, and the Tunisian aircraft that plunged into the sea... God bless them all... Hopefully they did not know their demise.... God Speed...

This just goes to show that, not everyone is fortunate. I just hope that I'm not one of those people caught up in a situation like that. At it appears now, I may be young, but a lot of unfortunate things have happened to me. I hope that when I fly again, that a plane crash isn't one of them.

I think this is one of the scariest things to experience...

unfort my predictions are coming correct. our generation is in the workfroce now. and it shows.

they are too distracted. these planes never needed to crash. senseless stupid mistakes.

prob somebody playing with his cell or e mail or chatting when he was supposed to be maintaing the plane.

to distracted.

thats why since like 95 or so. i take the train. i dont trsut my peers with these planes.

I see how they act in the airport. always shooting the sshit. talking chatting screwing around. TSA screwing around. half the guys that work in the airport. loook like they just came from a club or sparked one up.

sorry i take the train lloll.

Well trains are NOT that safe.. They are always derailing or crashing.. Unfortunately this crash, has some prelim information. The really sad part is that 121 are dead, 48 of which were children.
Prelim information is talking of a quick cabin depressurization, similar in operation and sequence to that of the Payne Stewart LearJet crash a couple years back. Unfortunately pilots probably did not recognize the drop in pressure, and were unable to don masks, or flip the PaxO2 mask switch over their heads. Passengers passed out, froze, pilots passed out and froze, and aircraft hit mountain. The good thing for the passengers and pilots, is that for those that passed out, they didnt feel anything.. just very tired, and then asleep... Those that may have felt or seen things, were most likely very delusional, psychotic, and really in no mental state to even know what was really going on. There are reports of one person sending to his cousins cell phone a text message stating, "pilots are incapacitated, good bye cousin, we are freezing up here."
May God take these to heaven and grant them peace in the afterlife.. May God be with the families left behind and give them strength to move on..

First of all, this is a very ignorant comment - not every accident is cause by someone "playing with a cell phone". That is why they are called "accidents" - they DO happen. Second of all, there have been several MAJOR train derailments in the past few years - were they also playing with cell phones, according to your intimate knowledge of science and engineering? Thirdly, I wonder how you know so much about the habits of pilots suposedly carousing and whooping it up at the airport, since you yourself stated that in the past 10 years you have only traveled by train. Either you have a fetish for men who wear wings or you are talking nonsense.

Shortly after 9-11, a flight bound for the Dominican Republic crashed on takeoff and landed in a Queens NY neighborhood killing many people. A lot of those people were on the ground, in their own homes, enjoying morning coffee and the paper. So the morale of this story is, if it is your destiny to die in a plane crash, you can take the train all you want - the plane can just as easily come to YOU.

I am not a huge fan of flying but I am not going to miss out on life's experiences because of fear...there are people who have 40 year careers where they fly several times a day for all that time and have never had an incident. I personally think that domestic US travel has a lot safer maintainance codes than a lot of the foreign airlines because that is where most of these accidents usually occur.

I just didnt want to say anything... It made me really mad what he said... It was a disgusting way for him to grace the memory of those people anyways... You are right in everything you said.. My father flew for Pan Am for 38 years....He never scratched a plane... I know many pilots that have flown for years and never had any problems, I also know many pilots that have flown for years that when faced with an issue handled it very very well and very professional. I only know one pilot who paid for it with his life.. I myself have been in the wheeling and dealing of the airlines since 1993. I didnt want to even read or reply too much into RBonuc's statement, it was unfounded, untrue and NO facts to back anything he said up!!! It is a bunch of HOT air... But Thanks Damian for saying what you said...

of course im sad for those poeple who died.

im commenting on the crash side of it. these planes are dropping like flies in the last 10 years. especially the last 5. its just a reflection that a new generation of people has entered the airline business. and a new way of business has entered too. Service!

and it shows big time llloll. I for one who use to be a big fan of flying after seeing what i see in the airports. today am terrified of going near a plane.

people f****ing off. playing yakking all day. i made a post about this month ago.just gets worse.

look freinds when your dealing with the transportation of people your concentration has to be not good. it has to be optimum.

I go to these airports today. and i see half the poeple shit balling yakking on the phone. talking fratanizing left and right. that tells me there prob doing it in the maintaining of the plane as well. I see behavior at the airports today that i didnt see

20 or 15 years ago.

so cuase of that. i dont fly anymore if i can. and i see mistakes today at the airport. that are mistakes that are in line with distraction.

like the landing in toronto. prob like what happ today. like going into a plane and seeing alll the mistakes that the lfight crew makes.

its not mistakes. remember cuase i know you guys will be rushing to counter my point now llloll. cuase theres always been mistakes wether its now or 30 years ago.

its the kind of mistakes! that are scarey. mistakes which come from

lack of concentration.

mistakes that come from a distracted work force.

stupid ones.

so thats why my ass dont fly anymore like it once use too.

unless these people for one aren to allowed to talk on the cell. they cut down on the frat in these airprots. and reduce there exposure to the customer service side of the industry.

i will not be flying.

part of it. is what i said.

another part of it. Is that these customers drive these people crazy. have you sceen how many freeking questions they ask these people in the gate while there flying etc,.
how many complaints. air rage etc

and the old days all those people would have been quiet till there flight was ready.

so thats another thing. the customer side of this. is driving these planes. to the ground.

till thats gets fixxed.

i dont fly.

transportation of people and your dad would agree fly? requires not alot of concentration.

Optimum concentration. and freinds.

I dont see optimum concentration when i visit the airports these days. i see a good system.

but the rest of what i see. tells me.

i hit the train llloll.

THATS NOT TRUE... STATISTICS ARE SHOWING THAT.. And you cant count the terrorist attacks of 9/11!!!

When you go to the airport today, you dont even see 1/4 of what safely makes these airplanes fly. YOU DO NOT see the pilots in the cockpit.. YOU DO NOT see the Air Traffic Controllers behind their screens.. YOU DO NOT SEE the Aircraft Dispatchers working at their desks planning these flights.. YOU DO NOT SEE any of this!!! YOU DONT HEAR any of this.. YOU DO NOT KNOW what goes into the safety of flight nowadays. What you see is Station agents who dont have a very direct connection to the safety of flight dealing with passengers like you.

What do YOU know about the landing in Toronto.. were you in the cockpit when the pilots made their decisions??? Were you at the runway as the aircraft was making its final approach??? How can you even compare the accident in Toronto with the accident in Greece??? Do you even see the Pilots while they are flying'??? You know What I DO.. Do you even hear or see the controllers while they are working?? YOU KNOW WHAT I DO?? Do you even know what goes on behind the scenes in the airlines and bowels of the airports?? YOU KNOW WHAT.. I DO!!

Dude.. THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AIR SAFETY.. NO WAY NO HOW.. How does the customer (with the exception of Mohammed Atta and his thirty thieves or whatever) create an aircraft accident???!!! :angered

My God this broke my heart today 🙁

I couldn't believe it...what a tragedy.

Im telling you sometimes i just dont know 🙁

very sad.. very sad.. I just hope what they are saying about the decompression theory is correct... That way nobody really suffered, they just all fell asleep...

john than you fly. if you like which obviously you do. great its a free country to have your opinions and to fly? I have been flying for years. for a guy who dosnt have a sizzling career. somehow i ended up flying alot.

and i can tell you my opinion is one based on what i saw in the airports going back 25 years.

It makes me very nervous when i see the way these people conduct themselves at the aiport. when i get to the gate it makes me extremely nervous when I see those TSA guys half of which from the way they are groomed look like they were out drinking all nite.

it makes me extremely nervous when i see them screwing around carrying on at the x ray. fratinizing etc.

the when i get to the gate. it makes me extremlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy nervous when i see

poeple go up to these chicks typing on the computer an bother them every 40 seconds. with all kinds of dum questions. and they are chicks and dummies? what are they gonna do. theyre gonna turn around after a while. and rush the air crew.

these poeple at the gate are bomborded with all kind of rediculous questions. which 20 years ago. people shut there freeking mouths at the gate till they were called.

today?

i see the house mom asking all kinds of things these poeple dont know or cant provide. i see them fielding outragous complaints. i see them fielding impossible requests. of where too sit where not to sit. and these things add Indirectly to the stress of turning the plane.

I dont care what you tell me !!!

cuase these poeple at the gate they put pressure on the air crew and ground people.

Look i dont want you talking to these poeple. period. i want these people concentrating on the job
