Yeah, has anyone ever heard of a city called Boston? It always seems to amaze me that NOT one artist or label mentions anything about Boston and the surrounding area. I could be wrong but with a huge, diverse Latino community in Massachusetts not once have I heard anything about any upcoming shows or anything of the sort. Why should I have to drive 3 hours to New York to see a decent show? With the proper promotions and advertising, I'm sure a show up here would be a success. I'm not talking about Springfield or Lawrence, I'm talking about Boston. The last Freestyle show I saw in Boston was way back in 1999 at the Roxy and that show was a success. I haven't heard anything since. You'd be surprised how many people would love to see a show like that up here. If anyone needs a list of venues, I will happily supply you with the names and numbers of contacts. But why limit yourselves to just the "tri-state" area's of NY, CT, and NJ. It makes no sense to me. Then I hear about shows in Colorado and Seattle and think to myself, "they have no clue do they". I could truly say that from 1994 to the present, I have only seen maybe 3 or 4 Freestyle shows, roughly from 1998-2000. It's kinda of ridiculous. If any of you artists out there need some help, let me know. But, it comes down to this, if you choose to broaden your fan base whether you be old-school or new school, you need to let people see who and what you are. And keep in mind that New York isn't the only place that plays Freestyle, Boston does also. I'm sure many perceptions of Boston are false and this city is all about the music scene.
