Awhile ago, I took the opportunity to enter a poem of mine into a poetry contest sponsored by poetry.com. Yesterday when I got home, I received a letter stating that my poem has been certified as a semi-finalist in the International Open Poetry Contest. And it is also has been selected to be published in a poetry book!!!

OMG... I never thought that my writing would ever have a chance. What an incredible feeling I had last night reading this letter!!!

And I wanted to thank all of you on CF that inspired me to continue writing and helped me along the way! Thank you, Thank you!!!

This is the poem that I entered!!! Its posted on CF already!

"So I Say"
I would leave anything for you, yet you leave nothing for me.
"So I say", do we feel the same way?
"So I say", not, it can’t be so,
there has been no action to let me know
Perhaps a phrase has allowed for an open wave of thought.
"Only time will tell"
But what tells time to let us know?
I don’t expect much,
I don’t expect to be hot, I don’t expect to be in love,
I just want to be madly hot in love.
But with whom?
Perhaps if I close my eyes tight enough,
I can imagine it to be you. Yet, if you close your eyes
You imagine whom?
Perhaps I just don’t know and I act, perhaps you know yet don’t act.
Just thoughts from the mind.
Perhaps destiny should not be left to the imagination’s eye,
You may discover disappointment at the end of the ride.
So strive on I say,
Because some how, some way
I know we will play Romeo and Juliet’s last day.
Just eighty years older and the natural way.
Think about it,
"So I say".
