Hello, my freestyle freaks!
Well, what a night it was on Friday!!! As you all know, here in the tri-state area we were hit with a very angry snow storm that stalled cars, stopped traffic, and forced people to stay home - - - -but not YOU!!! For the people who actually came to the concert -you have done lost yo' mind!!! All kidding aside, I thought the concert would be canceled for sure, but as they say, "the show MUST go on!" and it did.
It took me almost 9 hours to arrive to the venue. In fact, I missed the sound check and didn't even get to the hotel to check in...I got there at 9:15 and was scheduled to perform at 9:40...so I went straight to the arena, and our great driver had a hard time finding which entrance was the correct one (he was incredible by the way, what person would drive over 9 hours straight!?) I got to the arena and all I saw were worried faces backstage. Everyone was thinking the same thing: "Will anyone even show up?" As soon as I got there, I changed, washed my face at a sink (I had no time to shower - sorry, too much information right? LOL - but hey, I keep it real.) and put my make up on. I stepped out onto the stage and there you were!!!
wow - you not only showed up, but you were excited. I can't tell you how many people were there in total, I never asked...if only ten people showed up, I would have performed for them too. All that mattered was that you were there, you were safe and you were freaking happy!!!!
You are my heroes! You honored us with your presence and I was genuinely moved! If there was a nuclear war, and the future of freestyle was in jeopardy of dying, I have no doubt we would be saved! So thank you, thank you for being the crazy fans you are, for risking your life to see our show, and thanks Vic Latino for being a man of your word and making sure we all got paid...lol.
I also want to give credit to all the people who tried fiercely and courageously to get to the show but had to turn around because it was just too much. I especially want to show love to those who made it to Foxwoods, but the show had been over by the time they got there...you are thanked and not forgotten.
But seriously, I don't ever want to hear that song again, "Oh, the weather outside is frightful...let it snow, let it snow, let it snow." Bah- humbug! LOL...Much love and genuine respect.
