Kanye Apologizes
Category: Music
So I woke up this morning, and heard that Kanye West apologized for his behavior on Sunday night towards Taylor Swift. I went to Jay Leno's site to see the video footage of him apologizing...
So, now that he's apologized, what do we think...I can only say what I think. Sunday night I was upset that an artist who knows how difficult it is to make it, stole an important validating moment from another artist. I was baffled...why did he do it, how could he do it? The girl is only 19, I was thinking...how rude. As a group, we collectively demanded an apology. Last night we got one.
Honestly, I am relieved that he apologized. I saw his face on tv, he is embarrassed...he looked, to me, genuinely remorseful. If it happened to me, and he apologized, I'd accept his apology. Why? Because what goes around always comes around...I believe in forgiveness...ALWAYS..no matter how hard. You see one day, we will all do something absolutely stupid and senseless, and we WILL hurt someone. We will be embarrassed. We will feel horrible, and we WILL hope that we will be forgiven. I believe that if we stand in judgment and are harsh to people when they are asking forgiveness - we become self-righteous. That attitude, my friends, is a bad place to be. So in the hopes that I will be forgiven if I ever hurt someone - I think he deserves to be forgiven.
I watched the View today. Taylor Swift was on...she admitted that he hurt her, she admitted she had to perform only 5 minutes after Kanye stole her moment. She also said she'd forgive him, if he apologized in person. She said, so far, Kanye has not made the call.
Kanye, call her TODAY..don't wait. Kanye, you have an opportunity to make things right..sometimes people don't get that chance. Show her you're sorry, write a song for her..LOL...I think deep down, he's missing his mom...it doesn't excuse it, but it may explain a whole lot. He's human, we're human.
