Fried Oreo's????

Ok, has anyone heard of fried oreo's? I know I didn't until today. I was at the Irish Fest today and there were a bunch of food vendors and one of the vendors that was making funnel cakes also had a sign for fried Oreo's. I'm wondering what the heck it could be, so I see someone order it, and what they do is take the Oreo cookie, dip it into zeppole batter, fry it and then put powdered sugar on it after it comes out of the fryer. So basically it's a zeppole with an Oreo in the middle. And since the Oreo is fried, it's soft not crunchy. Sounds weird, but curiosity got the best of me and I ended up trying it and it's actually not that bad. A little too sweet, but other than that, it isn't too bad. Not saying I would to eat it all the time, cause believe me, one was sufficient enough for a long long long time. Has anyone else heard of or tried them?

I definitely did some overtime at the gym to make up for the two I ate Sunday. They were good, but don't plan on having them again anytime soon! LOL

Anybody remember Oreo Big Stuff from the mid 80's? I loved those things. They were huge Oreo cookies

The Food Network did a story on carnival food a few months ago, and the deep fried oreo was one of them. I believe there is a seafood resturant in the city that sells deep fried Mars bars.
