This is not a plug for a show. this is a call out to all freestyle peeps that will be in miami during WMC WEEK.
If you are a FAN, Artist, promoter, producer, old skool, new skool, manager whatever, if you were at one time, are or will be involved with any type/style of freestyle dance music forms , is is important for you to REPREZENT, be SEEN and HEARD as many parties as you can.
ATTEND ALL FREESTYLE, BREAKS nad ELECTRO parties that will take place.It is IMPORTANT that People and the Industry knows that we as a community are still in existence. thriving with new artist as we embrace the old ones.
If in the last months the sound of retro electro funk and freestyle have not been embraced by the nu electro breaks and elctro clash scenes, re-inveneted and picked up by labels as high as the levels of capitol, Ministry of Sound etc and covered/graced the pages with early 80's latinhiphop/freestyle streets n club fashions;gracing the pages of ministry magazine, urb,vibe,dj times and various other music and fashion mags.........be ready cuz its only the biginning.
In the coming months you will feel like your standing in mid 1982. but one difenence.......
Where is freestyle in allof this? Where are the people who will tell the freestyle stories?
Where is the freestyle FULCRUM of the community standing during WMC week.?
for the same reason we all came together again.
old school and new school.
we are getting together and not for money, not for stardom, not for greed not for anything. BUT for the love of what once was and the IDEA AND SOUL OF FREESTYLE MUSIC AND THE SPIRIT OF THE LATIN HUIPHOP MOVEMENT.
We came to understand that it is time to unite and rise up. for the past years other genres,fashions etc every one from house music to hiphop keeps taking our fashions, our sounds and our credibility, yet at the same time the same people who looked down on us. Didnt see us as a "REAL' music with a "REAL' culture.
maentime... legends, at least a quarter of them like Nyasia, johnny o, noel, lil suzy, and the list goese on stuck around, while new comers are also in the front lines and trenches.(mad love to all these people!!!)
however..there is alot of pioneers who are no longer in the freestyle game. however they love the love they get from the community and the respect. they come around when it comes to recieving recognition for past achievments........
but the truth is they dont give a F**k anymore about freestyle.
They have forgotten about what it has done for them and they thrived and ranked hi in the industry.
but today they have the least interest, cuz they made it. they are comfortable with themselves.
like the industry before them, they only have interest when they see money.
yes it is true. .all should at some time move on to bigger things. but if your in the industry at least open doors for every one else and take a lil bit of freestyle with you!.
dont bow your head and dread on shame like if freestyle was a bad thing.
those days are OVER.
For all these reasons and others, we have united and decided to have a reunion. one that evolved after many years of different freestyle parties and reunions over the past years during wmc week.
the one party where old school meets new and both meet tomorows legends and pioneers.
This year while the electro breaks and electro clash parties will take over the big rooms on southbeach (shannon perfoming at crobar on march 17 at an electro clash party)and the Europeans invade ultra and space with the sound of trance and ELECTRO BREAKS, we the freestyle community go in for the big one......
had to be JONPITO to throw the TAi Shan BALL II freestyle reunion party in the SMAK CENTER OF SOUTH BEACH'S underground House music stronghold. the gay mecca of south beach gay culture. a room that breaks records for calderone,junior vasquez, tenaglia and peter rouhofer. the room wher the high ranking gay industry elite...yes the peeps that bring you wmc, billboard and other trades, the circuit (white party,winter party,etc), and the owners of the beaches,new yorks and londons clubs come meet and mingle.the keystone of the REAL industry and undergound.

Jorge Ojeda privides the classic anthems, DJ vidal and robert rodriguez bring in the circuit and labels like *69 , centour, sondos, etc, newcomer Ariel G brings in the new generation through 88.1 FIU colleg radio (as he also is spining at ULTRA).....

D'luna the china doll(jellybean recordings)"Illknow (m blowing up), and Connie "funky Lil Beat", Emanuel..also more to be anounced.
all will bring in a mixture of industry, fans, gay str8, ravers, freestyle heads, etc.
