Hello Freestyle people. It’s Swins Fontenelle from Freestyle Universe on Facebook.com: the most active Freestyle organization you’ll ever find—devoted to supporting, promoting and celebrating Freestyle music! I’m coming at you today with another Freestyle picture-share and an update on what’s going on in the Freestyle Universe. The pics today are from Sidetracks “Home of Freestyle Fridays” where Joey Kid tore it up on Friday, as well as Sal Abbatiello’s Salud nightclub in Yonkers where Artistik Records brought the Freestyle magic on Saturday with acts: Phillip Anthony, Jennifer Jimenez, Poze and Synthia Figueroa! Check them out via this link to my online photo albums: http://www.flickr.com/photos/swins/.
Massachusetts gave New York a run for its money this past weekend at Clemente’s where artists: Erik Christian, Rebekka and Bernardo all had fantastic performances! Bernardo’s major freestyle hit: “Why Did You Quit On Me” (“Me Abandonaste” in Spanish) has been a favorite of freestyle fans for years and this Friday, June 4, 2010 he will be singing it for the first time ever in NYC, at Sidetracks; where he will also be selling that song and his other track: “Love Me Tonight” on cd for the first time as well (the original records were released in limited edition on vinyl). To check out the show Bernardo put on at Clemente’s (performing both English & Spanish), click the following link: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=105191558
If you didn’t already know it; Freestyle Universe on the Aurelia Show is on television once a month in the New York City area (although the re-runs are played all throughout the month) on Time Warner Cable and DVDs of our special 1-hour all Freestyle edition that aired April 15th will be available any day now for purchase, so stay tuned for that and catch us this month as we bring you another fantastic Freestyle act!
Freestyle Universe covers a lot of ground and on June 22, 2010 we will be having our 2nd Freestyle Industry workshop here in New York City. The item we have on the agenda for that evening will be getting club DJs to spin Freestyle music in their venues and adding new freestyle to their rotations.
All of you facebookers out the come and be a part of Freestyle Universe. I wish everyone the best and keep supporting our music, its performers, record labels, websites and venues! Ciao
