Well, I actually made it to the Freestyle Rush 2003 Concert in Revere, MA this past Saturday, and had a great time overall. I was a bit pissed to find out that the VIP tickets for some reason when we got there were $100 instead of the ADVERTISED $65, but oh well I had to do it. And the show was scheduled to start @ 9:30P, but didn't start until Midnight. Now I don't know any concert that's ever started on time, but I've never been to a concert that started 2 and a half hours late....that was a bit ridiculous!!! But, once it started, which CORO kicked it off, the show was great, and worth the wait. The 2 and half hour ride home after the show @ 3AM sucked....we rolled in @ 5:30A just as the sun was comin up.....haven't done that since back in my early 20's during spring break :lol

Did anyone else from here make it to the show that night? If you did, what did you think of the show?

Steve

To be honest with you, it was "okay". I had a great time, but it was a bit too long. I, myself, was pissed that it started at when it did, because we arrived around 9:45 KNOWING that it wouldn't start on time anyway, because what Freestyle show does?

I thought the opening dance team was definitely a good start because it got the crowd "amped up" for Coro.

Coro, as usual, does his thing, all the time, every time. He work's the crowd and he's always looking fly, especially that six-pack of his.

The men of TKA were great and brought back some good memories.

Lisa Lisa, for some reason, didn't perform for too long. I would've liked to hear more from her. But when she came out on stage with "Home......Home.......Home.......Home", she had that entire place AMPED up! What! Yo, hand's were in the air and she tore that shit up like it was 1984 or something. Her dancers were lookin' good too.

Rob Base was wack! They had like 14 other black dudes on stage with them and I really couldn't tell who the hell Rob Base consisted of. Keep your "crew" at home and next time, cover your own material. Totally unprofessional.

Stevie B was great. He brought me back to my day's when I was living in Miami. I wanted to slit my wrists when he performed "The Postman Song" (Because I Love You).

Anyway, the DJ that night was playing some off-the-hook music from Freestyle, House, Hip-Hop, etc. One song that stood out was April's "Special Love". What! I was loving every minute of it.

I have some photos to show you guys but it's going to be about a week until they're up 'cus I need to get them developed.

I had fun. It was different for a change. Any other night I would've gone to the same tired bar or club and been home by like 2.

Steve, did you get Coro's new "Greatest Hits Album"?

GREATEST HITS ALBUM? WHERE CAN I GET THAT? I WANT IT!!! WHERE CAN I BUY IT?

I WAS THERE JOEDOCPA AND HE SAID FOR PEEPS TO CALL THE RADIO AND START ASKING FOR IT SO THEY CAN GET IT THERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT PLAY ENOUGH FREESTYLE LAST NIGHT.WERE WAS THE LOCAL ACTS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN OPENING ACTS FOR THIS SHOW???????
Q102 IN PHILLY NEVER SUPPORTS LOCAL TALENT OR GIVES THEM A CHANCE!

Carlitosway. I never saw Coro or his manager after they performed. Where were they selling the Greatest Hits CD??? I would have definitely bought a copy of that. I never saw George Lamond after the show either. I was up in the VIP lounge area from 9:30P til about 3AM. I can't believe we were there and probably walked by each other many times and who knows probably even talked, but we never knew who each other was. I sent you a message to let you know I was going, but I don't think you were online. Well, maybe we'll run into each other some other time at anothe Freestyle show. All n All my sister in law and me had a great time, and Stevie B tore the roof off the place, and even came up to the VIP area after the show and hung out and signed autographs and chatted with those of us who were left. He was da bomb....it was great to saw all of them again after about 12 years for me. The only artist I've seen recently is Lisa Lisa, and you're right, her performance was WAY too short. I just saw her back on May 9th @ the WOLF DEN LOUNGE at the Mohegan Sun Casino and she had Cult Jam with her and played for about an hour and a half and came out for a meet and greet and everything. All I know is, it was one hell of a LONG RIDE home...:lol

Steve-

Hold up. So if you were up at the VIP area after Stevie's performance than you had to have seen me and my lil' crew. I was with these two girls, and my other half. We were basically up in VIP all night up until we got our photo with Stevie B. That was like, 3 a.m. We were chillin' on the sofa during and after his performance. VIP wasn't that busy. I'll post the pic and you tell me if you remember seeing me.

I'm sorry I didn't get that e-mail. That sucks.

Coro and Stevie were selling CD's up by the front entrance. They set up a table and everything, before the show. It was cool that they did that.

Damn, I wish I knew that. I did hear that Stevie B was out front signing aoutographs, but nothing about Coro, and I figured they were all gonna come back to the VIP area after the show any way.
You know what, I think I do remember seeing you...I believe you guys were sitting right behind us after the show ended and when Stevie B came into the VIP area..I think our backs were to each other. :lol
I have pics that I will hopefully be getting developed soon and will post them on here as well. Oh, did you guys have your pic taken by some guy just before Stevie B showed up? I think the guy said that the pics he took of us would be posted on www.lafiesta.com, but I can't seem to find that web site. Do you remember the web site???

Steve

I believe that Joe Manfredi was saying that they will be performing sometime in Nov at a club in Springfield MA. He said to be on the look out for more info. I'm pretty sure he was talking about this freestyle tour group that we just saw Saturday, so keep your eyes/ears open for more info sometime in the near future.

It's funny because I didn't have to wait long in line to speak to Coro and have him sign something for me. I don't even think people in Boston know who the guy is! But, we gave Coro crazy love and I was like, "Yo, you're looking good". "Thank You" was his reply. Stevie B's line was definitely longer.

I thought they were all going to hang out up in VIP afterwards, also. I mean, that's what they said and that's how it should've been. Stevie B made his presence though.

So you remember seeing me, huh?! That's funny, bro. I was very observant of my surroundings that night. If I see a pic of you and your in-law I'm sure I would recognize you. Like I said, there wasn't too many people up there. And yeah, there was a guy who took our photo from clubfiesta.com. First he took one of the four of us, then I got one with him alone. Don't ask me why but someone made me do it. Hehehe. Damn bro, and I figured you would be up there, too. By the way, I think we took that photo with clubfiesta.com after Stevie B 'cus by that time we were walking out towards the front door. Post those pics.

Damn, If I knew Coro was up there in the front with a table set up selling his Greatest hits cd and signin autographs I would have definitely gone up there. Oh well, guess there will always be a next time.
I remember having our pic taken by that guy from Clubfiesta before I went outside to get the roll of film, and that was before Stevie B showed up because once Stevie B showed up, I had him sign my cd covers and then I realized I was out of film and had to bolt to the parkin lot to get another roll before he left. :lol I'll definitely post my pics once I get them back. 😉
