While it's true that Austin, Texas has NO station with freestyle in any kind of rotation (anymore) 🙁 , you can still hear it mixed on the air... Listen to KKLB Club 92.5 FM on Friday nights from 10-12 midnight. We do a mixshow called the "Friday Night Street Jam." It's a tejano station, so we do mix up some of that, but we also throw in hip-hop, booty, and at least 30 to 45 minutes of freestyle... all mixed live.

We do take requests, so all you CF'ers in the area - make sure you support freestyle on the radio and call us up at (512) 390-5552 to let us know what you want to hear... Make sure you tell us your from CF, too. We're even going to start doing some on-air plugs for CF.com this week.

Any and all feedback (public or PM) on the mixshow is welcome. Enjoy!

I just read your post last week and got to here a few mins of your show on our way out to the club. I only caught a few freestyle songs. it sounded great but unfortunately i can't get into the tejano music. I grew up in CT not texas so i didn't grow up with that music like most texans. Anyways thanks for bringing some freestyle down here, i've been dying without it. Its a shame not many people even know about freestyle. Now if we could get a club to play freestyle all night maybe mix it in with some salsa and merengue that would be great. i'ld be the first one there and the last one out.

It would be great if Freestyle could be heard here in Austin again. Although, Desperado's does play a mix of it every now and then. And when it happens the crowd goes crazy! I know that if a radio station would promote a Freestyle Concert and bring all of the great artists back to Austin the concert would be a hit. The last time a Freestyle Artist came to Austin was in 1991. But, in order to refresh the memories of people who are now in their late 20's a radio station must give Freestyle extensive airplay through out the day. I guess for now I will have to continue my yearly trips to NY to catch a Freestyle Show.

BLESS YA! my brother is gonna freak out when he hears this!:sunshine

:confused hmmmmm....I still don't hear freestyle in ATX...I heard plenty of tejano.Well I hope U got my request 4 new school freestyle.😉

Whats up gente? Just wanted to introduce myself and to let everybody know that "Freestyle Addicts Productions" will soon be announcing our first Freestyle night here in Austin. I can't give you too many details right now but as soon as I can I'll let everyone know!Stay up and we look forward to seeing you at the baddest old school party in Austin in a long time!

I went to Kaos on a Friday night and they were playing freestyle music, they played about 15min worth. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. 😉 We really, really need freestyle back in AUSTIN. Please helps us get it back.

Freestyle in Austin? I never new, But now that i do, i'll make sure i'll look for it. i don't live in Austin, but visit it often, cuz a friend of ours lives there. They play a little in San Antonio too on Sunday nights on 106.7. i usually listen to it while i'm driving down to Miltary to see the races.

Club 92.5

Do they even do the Friday night street party anymore on Club 92.5? I have not heard it in a while. Also I heard there are supposed to be a few low-power radio stations popping up in the Austin area. Would by any chance one of them be possibly dance/Freestyle??? For those of you who miss freestyle on the radio you should contact the owner of Club 92.5 KKLB and say hey, we would like to have a freestyle show on the air in Austin. The reason why I say Club 92.5 is because they have been open to Freestyle for many years, when they first came on the air over 10 years ago they mixed Tejano and freestyle up regularly. Now they play mainly tejano but with enough people asking for freestyle they might be able to set up a freestyle show of some sorts... Also if you want to buy freestyle CDs, Turntable Records in South Austin is the place to go. One other thing... I am starting a freestyle lovers club of sorts. I have several people that I am in contact with where we not only trade freestyle songs but I am able to help find hard to get songs and CDs. I tend to keep up with some of the newest freestyle tracks out there and I am promoting the new freestyle music out to everybody. So if you are interested please send me an e-mail at JdawgATX2003@Aol.com and I would be happy to help you or even to hear from you...
