i think its pretty good...i mean it could be more, but they do the best around...there is nothing like being bored somewhere and out of no where u hear george lamond blasting from the radio ala ktu!!!!
 
OUTSIDE THE MIXES, THEY SHOULD PLAY MORE. I MEAN, THEY PLAY DISCO, BUT NOT ENOUGH. DISCO IS BEING DEALT WITH AT ANOTHER STATION IN NY. KTU SHOULD PLAY JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE FREESTYLE. ILL BE HAPPY THEN!
 
yeah that disco station is pretty good too...what is it 105 something...if they played freestyle i would listen to them all the time!!!!
 
Well, KTU recently added a third day to the freestyle lunch mix. There is no other station in the United States that plays more freestyle than KTU. 5 mixshows per week, plus a 3 hour freestyle show on Sundays...plus, ALOT of freestyle during the happy hour on fridays from 5-6 pm (Including my new freestyle megamix), and of course in regular rotation which has been averaging 1 freetyle song per hour

I agree that the lunch mix should be 1 hour. If people called and requested it, it might be granted....lol *hint hint

On a realistic standpoint, I think they play the right amount of freestyle. Remember, not everyone is a freestyle fan. I would just add more songs to the library. For instance, instead of playing Maria again tomorrow, play 'Scars of love" instead.
 
I agree with Johnny. KTU plays a fare amount of Freestyle, they just need to change the songs a little. There are alot of other good freestyle songs that could be played "Scars of Love" instead of "Maria".

B4, i used to say why dont they play this freestyle and that freestyle..now, i say freak it. They play the most freestyle than any other station on this planet..(that i can think of) So, i say they play more than enuff. it's up to the listeners to change the length of the mixes..dang, i call up once a week!! okay? on a friday..and sooner or later they'll be like: "dammit, is this the same person i speak to every freakin' blahblahblah" lol, so i do my part besides buying and listening and spreading the word about FREESTYLE and the so on and so forth...hasta la vista, peeps 🙂

They always play "If i had the chance". When the song was out, it was #1 on their playlist for over a month. It was a HUGE song for KTU

I think freestyle on KTU has gotten somewhat better. Judy is given a little more leadway to play a little bit more than just the "basic" songs. The only thing that I could see being improved in regular programming during the week is, like Johnny said, for them to play different songs by popular artists. Considering they play the shit out of "Change on Me" and "Maria", there shouldn't be a problem playing "Love Me Tonight" and "Scars of Love", respectively. Nobody's asking for anything underground or obscure. Just to mix it up a little. Just last night, they played "Love You Will You Love Me" when I was driving home , which was so nice to hear, considering how much they play "Come Into My Arms", it was like a breath of fresh air.......As for the rest of KTU programming, well, I won't go there......

I agree with everyone. There's not much left for me to say because everyone's already said it. LOLL. BTW -- I get a call from someone at "the new KTU" everyday at work reminding me how I can win money. It makes me laugh cuz they have to keep saying "the new" KTU. LOLLL.
 
Martini....it will always be called the "new ktu" because of the original ktu back in the early 80's. The original WKTU was 92.3 in the 80's and played all the disco and dance hits at that time.
 
Johnny, ive taken that into consideration about the "new" thing but there is a law that phohibits a company from calling thier product "NEW" after so many years. i think the limint was 3 years. i dont think anyone has been on thier case about it, though. even Q-104.3 has stopped calling themselves "NEW" a few years back. 🙂

I asked the girl who called me today if she ever got tired of saying "the new KTU" because she must have said it like 10 times during the phone call. She was like -- Oh no ma'am. Never. I love KTU. I said honey, relax -- I don't secretly work for KTU, you can tell the truth. I'd go nuts!!! 😱 LMAOO
