Hey guys...This is like the most important part of my Project, and I need as many responses as I can get. Tell me your honest opinion about how you feel about Freestyle now. Do you feel it has changed? If so, explain why, and please answer to my poll, because I will be using that in my project as well...Thank you!

Wasssup little one! It hasn't changed that much. Eventually many genres of music go through changes as time go by along with new technologies. Freestyle today still keeps the same repetitive early electro loops, but some freestyle artist tend to record some fast high energy type songs. For example Rockell is a Modern/new school freestyle artist, she had a big hit with " When I'm Gone" that sounds more like a high energy/light house track unlike "In A Dream which is pure hard bass freestyle. Thats pretty much the only reason why new freestyle is different from old freestyle.

I don't think it has changed that much. 🙂 I voted for "No".

Well, these new freestyle songs that I have heard lately, its not much different. I admit, there is a slight tiny change, the lyrics of today are much shorter, you see the songs end in 3 minutes, that is about the only little change I see. lol

P.S: According the the new school songs I've heard.

I think freestyle has changed since when it first came out. The early stuff had the 80's sound to it of course because that's when it was made, and i think the beats were a lot harder. The stuff today has a lot more "dance" sounds blips and whatnot in it, especially in canadian freestyle. Of course you can still tell it's freestyle with the breakbeats/electro and the singing, but overall I think it does sound different.

is there a difference? There is too much of a difference! Even non-freestyle fans could tell which songs were from the 80s or the 90s. The old-school was heavy and slower, and the new-school is dancier and faster.

By the way, Crystal, what subject is this freestyle project for? History?

No tran-man..Not exactly History..Actually, it has all kinds of things in one....Im getting everyones opinion, on a specific question ABOUT Freestyle. But the main thing on my project, is to know what people really think about Freestyle NOW, when comparing it to back then..You get what im saying? I need history to it, to also know things about the music then. When it first started getting air play and everything, and to also compare it to these days...

I think it has changed quite a bit. I think the beats used in the 80's were harder and more pronounced and a bit grittier if you get my drift. The beats used in today's freestyle don't in my opinion seem as prounced. There also in my humble opinion, seemed that a bit more melody was put into the freestyle in the 80's. Today it is more beats and bass.

I say that freestyle, hasnt changed much..Only for the fact, that freestyle is about Love and HeartBreak...When you hear the lyrics to our new Freestyle songs...Its about love as well...And it still has that fast beat that everyone loves to dance to..But thats only my opinion..🙂

Thank you to those who have answered my poll and thread..I hope you do know, that you are part of my project now!..😀

You better!.........lmao! Im still trying to think of how creative I can get with this..I have to stay within the topic..

Has Change

I agree with Enigma, the only difference is the length of the music. They sound just the same to me also. I remember when some lasted for 5min or even 8

Whoever Has SOLID's Record " Loving You " Knows That Has 2 Be The LONGEST Freestyle Record Ever Recorded. 16:29 Or Around There...
And In My Eyes And Ears,Freestyle Has Changed Alot...The BPM's Have Gotten Alot Faster,The Lyrics Have Gotten Alot More Simplier. Not Enough Feeling And Emotions Being Used In The Songs. Most Of That Comes From The Music Getting Faster...Can't Stay On Key Nor' Can U Stay Within The Bars While U Scream Or Show Emotion.
Sucks Huh..Thats why I Stick To My Words And Say " Freestyle Never Needed A change "

The length has gotten shorter...And I feel that just because of that, Elear is right with the not enough emotions being put into it. But you see, my lovely TKA...LOL! Now there new songs..Like When will I c u...Now that your gone...Love Conquers all..Say the word..and U dont feel it...Has a lot of emotions into it. So much, that after hearing the lyrics to each, I would cry..lol!..Forget about the beat and sound..But the lyrics..That is what Freestyle beholds to me..The words...And then the sounds...What is freestyle to you?

The new freestyle has faster and softer beats to it. It's more radio friendly. Also, it has a more "digital" sound to it as well. The new freestyle is also more simple. There is less fluctuation in the overall sounds (new freestyle). With old freestyle, there were more changes in the instrumentals throughout the song, rather than one continued sound, like the way it is with the new. The new freestyle just isn't as hardcore/underground. 🙂 😀

Crystal...Ur Right....Tka's Songs Are Emotional...But...Where's The Freestyle?
(Besides The Planet Rock ver. And Willie's Remix Of When Will I See You Again)

Well Elear, like I said..Freestyle to me is about the Lyrics..And then the beat..Does TKA have a beat?..Yeah, they do..But what kind? I think they got all kinds of beats in one..Including Freestyle. I say TKA has there own sound..But like I said..Thats my opinion...Everyone else says it house, tech, etc...And some others say a little Freestyle as well. I cant say for sure what sound it has..Thats for them to say..But thats all I have to say as far as the sound for my TKA..lol

I VOTED FOR NO..I DON'T THINK FREESTYLE HAS CHANGED THAT MUCH EITHER..MAYBE A BIT AS FAR AS IT BEING FASTER AND BUT OVERALL STILL FREESTYLE RIGHT? I DON'T KNOW SHOULD I HAVE VOTED YES THEN?..😀 THATS MY OPINION...
