The Bomb Squad

I think "The Bomb Squad" has already been used (although not if Freestyle music)...Didn't the hip-hop producers the Shocklee brothers (Hank and Keith) along with Bill Stephney and Eric Sadler call themselves THE BOMB SQUAD? If I remember correctly, they were the producers behind Public Enemy's music early in their career.

youre permitted to use a name that was used before.

for instance, does anyone remember the R&B group "SKYY"? (my best friends uncle was the only latino in the group.) Well, there is another group that has been out for a couple of years with the name "SKY". I know its only "1" letter, but perhaps you can change a letter too in an existing group name for personal gain!

I think from a legal standpoint there may be a problem if you use a pre-existing name such as THE BOMB SQUAD. Then again that might only apply if they had the name copyrighted. I know that using names that have been known in the past can cause confusion...People might buy THE BOMB SQUAD thinking that it is a new and innovative Hip-Hop release only to be disappointed that is not what they thought it would be...

I personally have never heard of neither SKYY nor SKY, but do you think there is a posibility that the difference in spelling was done to avoid any legal trouble?
