The Other Night Me And A Cousin Of Mine * A Freestyle DJ For Over 10 Years and Still Going * Were Discussing About Freestyle.
I Brought Up The Fact How It Disgusts Me How Stations Like KTU Support Only Old Skool. How Bad Boy Joe And Other DJ's And Labels Only Put Commercials Of Thier Greatest Hits And Old Skool Re-released Stuff. Not 1 Fu**in New Skool Act Or Acts Have Been Given A Chance.
People Who Don't Come To This Board Dont Know Anything About Freestyle. And Are Living Off Of Ktu's Commercial B.S. Freestyle That Is played Over And Over And Over.
You Can't Blame People For Thinking " Freestyle Is Dead " Or In The New Skool Case " It All Sounds The Same "

I hear what your saying about KTU not playing new school
freestyle as often as you would like to hear.

We know that DJ Johnny Budz plays allot of new
Freestyle during his mix show.

What you are looking for is KTU to play new Freestyle
Straight Up. I hear that. No sense complaining about it.

Maybe it's a good idea to push new freesytle hard to other
radio stations. If it's a hit.. Then watch how fast everyone
jumps on the bandwagon and plays the new stuff.

I am not one to complain I like to take action. For
the sake of freestyle a) Make some really good new freestyle music.
b) Promote it like your life depends on it.

Dont expect favors just friggin do it. WTF this is a free
country if you try hard enouph anything can happen.

A while back this black man tried to tell me that
he cant get ahead because of his color and how
people bring him down for that. What are you FRIGGIN
KIDDING ME???? I told him. Work hard. Do the right thing.
ANYONE CAN DO ANYTHING. It Pisses me off that people
sit around complaining. Instead of taking action.

Kick down some dam doors. You can do it.

I learned this EARLY on from a legend in the biz.
SAL ABBATIELLO (Fever Records)
back when he was promoting the great Freestyle Fever Concert.
This man was out ON HIS OWN
spreading the word about the party at a feast in NYC.
That shed some light for me. He showed me that if you want
something. GO F*KING DO IT!


Now I am sure a ZILLION excuses will come up.
Dont make me read any excuses. Use that time to
take action and make it happen.

I have MANY ideas on how artists can promote
their music for little or no money outside of CF.
Heck I did it here on CF with all of my own resources..

Just dont make your pride slow you down from spreading
the word.

& next time you see me at a club.. Take a closer look and watch
me hit the entire club with ClubFreestyle promo cards.
One time someone asked me ..hey JackG arent you embarassed to
hand out cards all over.. I stopped a sec and said.
Hell No. Look at all the great people that found CF this way.
That's worth gold to me - to meet & hang with all of you here.

With that said. PLEASE make some great new freestyle for
everyone and work hard to promote it to others !

I agree. For one thing, the general lack of originality is holding back the new school freestyle. Look back at the late 80's. Freestyle was loved not just because it was "in" then...or "happening"...it had originality all the way through. Think of any random 10 old school tracks and you will see how each one was unique in their individual sound. You can't do that now. Everyone who knows me knows I don't like the new school. The BIGGEST reason is because the new stuff sounds so similiar to other new tracks. I'm not going to even get into the quality itself; I'm just talking about repetition of the overall sound. I see no use in complaining about it. That's the way it is. It's not going to change and suddenly become unique from one song to the next. There aren't enough people who are doing it for the love and PASSION of the music. You may get a few rare exceptions here and there, but it is how it is. Thank God there were hundreds of freestyle songs made, not just 10 or 20!!! lol....When the TRUE PASSION comes back, so will the quality and originality. Don't hold your breath.....love what DOES exist...there's plenty of it..... THE END...lol.....😛

a HUGE desire with great new freestyle..

Kenny Freestyle out of San Jose who is re-defining
the sound in his own way.


The only thing they need is allot of exposure.
Sooooo all they have to do it want it enouph to
get it on there own.

I Bet If We All Got Together And Went TO ktu Or Whereever And Stood Togethe Boycotting Or whatever The Case Is, They Would Hear Us. BUT...We Will Never Come Together As Artists Producer Labels Etc. Because Everyone Is In Competition With Eachother. It Was Like That Back Then And Its Like That Now.

i try spreading the word around to people when ever it comes up.........if they ask me about freestyle or new stuff thats out i tell them........come to clubfreestyle.com sign up and you will get all the info you need.......some do some dont that i cant help

but as for commercial play its like that up in Toronto too Elear........they do play new school jams but only the shit that they like or they think will help there radio station be promoted and help there ratings.........many songs i believe should be played but dont.......for example CYNTHIA & SAFIRE - CAN YOU STAND THE RAIN..........great new school track for the radio.......but my guess this track will never hit the radio stations in Toronto......the advertising of this new school listings is terrible..........but there is not much many of us can do..........because we dont fund the radio stations and thats the main reason why we the peeps miss out
