Freestyle Is Now Dead In San Antonio!!!

There were 2 stations in San Antonio playing Freestyle. KTFM & 106.7 JAMZ. 2 weeks ago, long time heritage station flipped formats to KROCK & are now playing Classic Rock, Alternative, & some current Rock music. As of 9am 10/31/03...106.7 JAMZ is now known as Z106.7 San Antonio's New #1 Hit Music Station, we're now playing Eminem & 50 Cent to Roc Project & Lasgo to Linkin Park to Fountains Of Wayne. There is NO Freestyle being played on 106.7 now, which includes my 3 hour show...THE FREESTYLE FILES. I don't know if the show will be reinstated. I have yet talk to management, but for now we will be jockless for about a month, which includes all mixshows too. I just want to thank Jack G & everyone else who has supported me, my show & the station. I really really really appreciate it, I will let everyone know if & when we will start playing Freestyle music again!!! Again...thanks everyone!!!

Hey Rene, why the change in format w/ 106.7? The dance playlist was cool. As for KTFM, they hardly played freestyle anymore and don't mind the new format. Was it a gradual decision to change JamZ? This is upsetting because Jamz kept freestyle going down here. Well, keep us posted on any updates.

Same Thing Happened Here In Austin About 3 Years Ago. The Beat 104.3 Started And They Played Nothing But Freestyle......for 2 Weeks. Now It's A Mainstream Radio Station And It Sucks!!!!!!

This definitely hurts us. But we know how strong freestyle is down in Texas, so hope is not all lost yet. Rene, much props to you for keeping it going in San Antonio!

well when u mention san antonio all i could think of is country music sorry lol cuz since the majority of the ppl that live there is gringos u cant understand why freestyle doesnt make it there that much thats why u need more latinos to be ringin those phone lines alot nahmean

Hell nah I don't where you got that idea from but....San Antonio is a hispanic city...we're the majority in this city, thats why Freestyle is so popular here!!!

well maybe in ur area rene is all hispanics that live there but im not talkin about within a 3 block area im talkin about san antonio in general ok like i said the majority of the ppl that live there are whites sure theres hispanics that live there i didnt say that they didnt just like when i was in dallas i could say the same thing also and if i were to hear anything close to freestyle i think i could of have won the lotto to tell u the truth
