While in Miami I have been listening to a couple of stations that have been playing freestyle and they say the genre is dead. Not at all. I hope that anyone here in the area will keep freestyle alive and come check me out at Club Hooligans for Pitbull's Birthday Bash.

Location:

Club Hooligans, 9555 South Dixie Highway, Miami Florida.
For directions call 203-675-1801 or 203-449-3323.

While listening to Pitbull's album, I heard some songs that to me can definietly be considered freestyle but with a new edge and while in Tampa I was able to hang out with Tony G., which made me some dinner that was off the hook by the way, and I listened to some tracks that have a new sound which is what I believe is what freestyle needs. It is not until you get to meet and chat with someone that you get to see how talented and creative that person is. I must say Tony is truely talented and I wish him continued success. I also want to thank all those freestyle club members here in Florida who have shown me around and made this trip a great place where freestyle is alive and kicking it.

which pitbull songs are those that have a twist of freestyle? I've only listened to the mainstream stuff and i feel so ignorant that i dont know this!!!

I just was peepin Pitbull's website and check out his interview, that homeboy mentions freestyle, thats some good shit!!!!!!!!!

Q: What got you into music, who were the first artists that you started listening to?A: Nas 'Illmatic' was the first one that really got me. Wu-Tang Clan '36 Chambers', that was big for me and 2 Live Crew was big. Freestyle records were also big for me when I was growing up. Stevie B, Lisa-Lisa, that type of shit.

Q: What was the vision/story behind the video for 'Toma'?A: We wanted 'Toma' to definitely be energetic, a lot of different colors. You know Jessy Terrero did his thing on that right there. What the video did was bring the record to life. Visually when you see it now, you see the record in a whole different aspect. As far as the story it's kind of like a Scarface story, you know. I'm in a cafeteria, just came from Cuba and I'm looking for the connect. Jon happens to be the big boy in town, I get wit Jon, and the next thing you know I'm ballin out of control. I'm going to the club, and I'm telling women 'Toma!'

Q: You speak a lot about politics. Why or why not do you think it's important or relevant to music?A: Politics, Politricks. Politics are bullshit at the end of the day and everybody's got an opinion musically, all it does is just set a platform for all the followers. You know John Lennon had his political views, and then you got P. Diddy with what he was tryin do for this election. Getting people out there to vote. All it shows is that when it comes to politics, music is a different form of clout. A way to pull or push a party.

Q: What are your favorite spots in New York, L.A. and Miami?A: When I'm in New York, I be in Washington Heights. When I'm in L.A., I really don't know too much about L.A., I usually be at Roscoe's. And in Miami, I be all over the place!

Q: What's up with your deal with Reebok?A: 305's-yeah we cutting a deal with Reebok; we doing like regional Reeboks so we'll do the 305's, we¹ll do 212's, 404's so you know basically everybody can represent the neighborhoods or their areas.

pitbull is not freestyle not even close to freestyle . he is on mtv and freestyle is not

Actually he's not too far off. He has mentioned freestyle and Miami Bass before and I think you can hear that influence in a couple of his songs. Check out "Get On The Floor" and "She's Freaky." Especially "Get On The Floor" which hit #1 on our station.
