Cool show, though it was like an oven in there all night... even next to the fan it felt like 90 degrees. Props to all the performers who worked through that!

Alvendia and her dancers....always rock the show!

Angelino... nice bustin out the freestyle t-shirt!

Miles Petty... nice performance, you might also have a second career as a comedian  ...Fresno doesn't believe in air conditioning!

Jessica Marie...great voice, you all need to hear her sing.

Luis Uribe...good seeing you perform for the first time. Must have been tough being last, but you did your thing.

Six2Night....not only had the crowd going with her song, but put on a show with her dancing too!

Timmy T.... Great seeing the legend performing again.

Caleb- B... the one who played such a big role in putting the event together... your performance was great too.

Lenny Linus kept the beats going all night, great seeing you again man.

Tony.. great seeing you again, man we all took some long trips.

Pete Zavala, awesome hosting with you. Was a hectic night but all seemed to go well. Glad we got those dancers for the intro, even though that one girl banged her head on the light fixture 😳 . But she did her thing along with her friend!

SquirrelBoy, MD, Frankie, Strider, MexiFreak, Baby Kitten, everyone else...great seeing all the freestyle remixers again. You guys are cool as hell, thanks for everything. Wish we could have hung out more, sucked I had to work the next morning in Sac, so I passed out pretty quickly for the night.

Hope I didn't forget anyone, I'm almost late for work, so I've got to run. See you guys next time. Salinas?

Hopefully Brian, but many of us aren't sure about the salinas Freestyle Explosion because of the lack of Freestyle artists performing-the HipHOP/Rap artists are getting rid of our Freestyle dance performers-we need to buy & support dance music-IT IS A MUST, to survive.

Yeah, we need to get some new school artists in that show! Maybe we can all show up to the concert, sit next to each other, and stretch out a huge banner saying - "Where's The Freestyle KDON?" :idea

LOL, four Freestyle performers :cynthia Definitly does not make it a Freestyle Explosion.Remember when america was calling Ricky Martin,Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony, & Christina Aguilera a LATIN EXPLOSION.And all latinos in the world were like, 5 artists make it an Explosion?????Like we just crossed the border, we were always here:lol

Lol

This is what I think. Check out my picture attached

plenty of support for the older artists and true freestyle music.. i have no idea what you call this... why not get a show together with "Freestyle Artists" and then see how much of a difference you will have in talent. Have a show with Judy Torres, Lil Suzy, Denine, George Lamond, etc.. not Caleb B, Jessica Marie, Anya.. who the hell are these people and where did you find them.. give me and everyone else a break.. No one knows them b/c they can't get any radio play b/c the music is not that good.. Even though not much freestyle gets much radio play these days, a good record is a good record.. Robbins has a remake out and its good and its all over the radio..

Just my opinion, people might like it and have the right to say so, but i'm not a big fan of the new stuff and have a right to state it if i like.. good luck..

Shout out

Well, I'm proud. I'm used to hearing haters. Their reasons are usually obvious. I don't know you, but you are entitled to your opinion. So I take this opportunity to proudly invite anyone and everyone to judge for themeselves. Check out www.myspace.com/jessicamarietx Pete is an awsome producer. Thanks for the music Pete. :heee

that's funny.. an ass of myself? look at the music you put out!! enough said!!! this is why freestyle is in the state its in. music is thrown together with no structure, there are good hooks and all the artists sound the same. how many of these artists will ever crossover? NONE. Lil Suzy, Safire, Coro, Denine, Collage, Expose, Cover Girls, Stevie B, and countless others all crossed over to POP, none of these new "so-called" freestyle artists will ever reach a billboard chart and college radio doesn't count. They are no better than a compilation that will sell about 2,000 units, if you are proud of this accomplishment and attach your name to this, you and "new freestlye" will never get any real credibility like back in the day.

Now I think I said enough and maybe you can find some real talent to work with.. Good Luck with that!!!

I think I had enough of the Nu School Suck threads, we are all artists trying to keep this music pumping. We all love the 80's but we can not go back! The legends/Oldschool so we called them did their thing and pave the way for the other artists to follow. Yes alot of the artists did not do a good thing, but at least it was kept in front of the fans eyes.
So much critizm which isn't constructive have been mention about the so called Nu School artists, but when the Oldschool artists did new music no one supported them either!
Coro did new music, George Lamond, Nyasia, TKA, Judy Torres, Nice & Wild, Stevie B, Safire, Cynthia, & more, and many others and guess what they are still doing their old stuff because the So call Oldschool Fans do not let them do nothing new.
How many times did we hear "Do unto me, Tell me why, or Shadows" by Coro on the radio or him performing the song, how about "Lately" by George, "When will I see you again, Body Rock" by TKA, "How I love him" by Cynthia, "Can you stand the rain or Stranger" by Safire? not at all if it wasn't on the net, or college stations you will never hear it. Mainstream play them only in mixes not in rotation. So how are we going to expand?
I know there's alot of New artists that need work, but we have to mold them. There's plenty of them that are the right people to be out their and not getting the support.
The only time that any one comes to a show is when there's like 30 acts that are all OLD School in 1 place, but can 3 acts pack a place, don't think so.
Willie Valentin and Artie have kept the music moving as much as they can. Artists like Poze, Ashley, Ayna, Manny, and others have bust it their ass to continue this music by providing different ways of pushing our music wether is by doing video, selling merchandise, putting a great show. And we can only get a handful in a club, how can we grow when we can support.
Do you know how hard it is to have cds on a shelf if it ain't Reggaeton or HipHop it won't get pick up.
If you are not a writer, a producer, a singer, or somebody who's putting money for a production, I don't think you should dissed any one!
If you don't know how to give a respectful critic with out offending someone then don't post, keep your comments to yourself.
You know it's going to be Drama over something that really is not making anything for our music, the only is doing is discouraging the new ears, new fans on taking a listen.
Not here to diss no one, nor pick on no one, i'm just tired of seeing the shame shit!
If you going to say something to me, it's cool go ahead I've been long enough to know my shit, and have people who knows it and backs me up on it.

I looked for this thread and couldn't find it again... now, here it is! 🙂 Anyway. I just skipped over most of the negative aspects of this thread and I have to say that I am proud to have been a part of this show. I feel that the artists' performances were impressive and I was excited each and every time one of them got on the stage. I know listing everyone seperately is getting old to some, so I'll keep it at this-Every performer brought something special to the show. Every person in the audience gave amazing love and energy. I can't wait for the next one.

Back in the day, we (as a Freestyle community) used to stick together and make things happen. I felt that Freestyle Fantasia was a step in the right direction for new Freestyle. We should celebrate success, not hate on it.

Anyway... if you were a part of Freestyle Fantasia in any way... congratulations! You did an amazing job.

pictures

well i'm back and i'm sure most of you are soo happy.. anyway, saw pictures from that show!!! they are the ugliest people i've ever seen. LOL this is too funny.. IMAO.. no talent and no looks, what a damn shame... Pete you should have kept them to yourself.

by the way, to whatever idiot said i'm a spy from another website, stop watching so many movies..LOL

one more thing, i'm not a hater, just not a fan. this forum is for "opinions" good or bad, if you don't like what i have to say then DON'T READ IT!!! the more response i get, the more i love it b/c i know i'm getting to you. so keep it up, its fun..

with your career, i guess you would be bored...
