I also grew up in Manhattan, NY where freestyle is still livin' out there. I'm here in Jersey and there are some people out here that never heard of this kind of flava. After I called them WACK, I let them in on some beats and music. I got a couple listening to it and they still coming to me for more. If we want freestyle to live alive out loud, we have to be showing the newbee's the latin hits. Latin beats are the best even if its Salsa, Merenque and Freestyle. I love NY because it seems that everyone there knows what freestyle is. Even the roaches and rats.
