I'm getting irritated with music writers classifing Freestyle artist as House artist. I'm gonna say this one more time!! There is a huge diffrence between House and freestyle. One thing makes the two different:

House is fast and based around The Four on The Floor Chord(4/4)

OK!! :splat :splat

who doesn't know that? pretty sad not knowing house from freestyle what kind of "music writers" are these anyway

Wow to me house is a genre with heavy bass....it's more intense than freestyle

Yeah... who doesn't know the difference... especially on THIS website? I think your post is directed at the wrong people. We KNOW our FREESTYLE! 🙂

well when i mention freestyle to people, they usually confuse that with rap which gets me into a long convo about how wrong they are and not even close. Then into describing how freestyle is.... it gets annoying but its good to teach people a thing or two..

When I was a shorty (early-mid 80’s), the music that was hitting back then came from artists like Alisha, Shannon, Expose, Afrika Bambaataa/Planet Patrol, Lisa Lisa & The Cult Jam, Tina B.,etc.. Then around 85-87, we had artists like FFWD (Baby Don't Go), Nayobe (Please Don't Go), Sweet Sensation, Nocera (Summertime), TKA, Cynthia, & the ridiculously over-mentioned Stevie B (no offense to Stevie), etc...House music was still new around this time and like myself, many djs mixed House with Freestyle, pre-Freestyle and other genres ALL the time back then. And that work for many djs & the kids that supported both genres. Is it really that important to try and pit Freestyle against House & vice versa? What would I gain by doing this? Nothing actually. Personally, I love both. If it sounds good mixed together, do it. Yeah sure, they both sound different due to vocal styles, melody, instruments & recording equipment used, but they both carry a beat and that’s all I look for if I want to mix one with the other or just simply dance to. So what if a writer or two gets them mixed up, it’s their problem for lack of knowledge….no reason to let their shortcomings bother you.

Trueeeeeeeee!! I hate rap freestyle and it hurts me that peeps think that's the only "freestyle" out there!

^^ agreed but i still find it funny when rap freestyle ppl unknowingly join CF & start challenging ppl to their little battles. LMAO

hehe! I get that in freestyle chatrooms all the time. "Sup Jerze dogg, wanna battle me".....hehe My reply is "Eatta Dik". 🙂
