Hey All,
Rosalind & I are organizing and event to benefit the victims of flight 587 that crashed on it's way
to the Dominican Republic. This was originally supposed to be a holiday party by us and icaramba.com
(John Leguizamo's site) celebrating this crazy year, however, in light of the recent tragedies, we
thought it was only right for us to do somehting for the community. Our sponsor (and of course us!)
wants Si*Se to perform as part of the night and right now we are working out the specifics of what
would need to be rented just to even be able to play at this club. We really need you to donate your
time for this event (as we all are) that will be heavily promoted, particularly within the Latin
Entertainment industry and the Dominican community. The event specifics are as follows:
- Date: December 11, 2001
- Place: Cream (72nd & Colombus)
- Time: 8pm - 12am
- Special Elements:
DJ Tony Touch (Latin hip-hop artist & DJ) spinning
John Leguizamo appearance
Angie Martinez appearance (Hot 97.1FM / recording artist)
NYC Latino comic, Angelo Lozada will MC the event
- $10 Cover charge to be donated to "Alianza Dominicana" (to benefit the families of flight 587)
- Raffle (tix given at door for giveaways including: Signed Leguizamo stuff,
Tix to Broadway Leguizamo show, Sexaholix, Signed Angie Martinez stuff, signed NY Yankees stuff (TBD)
- Media Coverage by: Latino Mix 105.9 FM (spots/live remote), Latino Impact magazine,
Press Release/PR - Hispanic press, iCaramba.com, TV coverage by NBC show,"Latin Access"
and/or Galavision (or another Spanish TV station)
- Food: Passed hors d'ouerves + Buffet (all Latin cuisine)
- Drinks: Cocktails Courtesy of (Iiquor sponsor)
We thank you in advance for supporting this cause especially since it has hit close to home,
at least I know with Carol's mom who was supposed to be on that flight and with my friend's
dad who unfortunately was. It's the least we can do at this time...I figured if we're going to party
& booze it up all night, we may as well do something along with it in the spirit of giving for
the holidays!
Thanks,
