Has anyone heard the new song called ANYWAY by Amber. I have thught for years that her voice would sound great over a freestyle beat. And finally we have it..........With the right remix of this song, this could be the freestyle jam of the year. You can go to cd.now and listen to a clip of it. It'd from here latest cd called Naked. Tell me what you guys think.

There is no way that this song is Freestyle. I don't even see how you could confuse it as being a Freestyle song.

:crap

I just heard it. Sorry, I don't think it's freestyle either. The beats are a bit "deep", so I can see how you might want to refer to it as freestyle in that particular way. However, I'd have to say it isn't.

With the way people stretch freestyle nowadays......this is very close to freestyle.......and like i said WITH THE PROPER REMIX.....it could be a freestyle jam........ i am so sick of all the old school planet rock people who will not give the new sounds in freestyle a chance.........this definately has many elements of freestyle....let hope the al b. rich remix.....sounds like the remix he did for dj encore......

FREE ELMO is right. why are we so anal about freestyle's boundries? we just about killed the freestyle name because of the planet rock theory and we wont accept anything that doesnt have it. we have to expand our choices because frankly, were not getting much of anything new to listen to.

With the proper remix, yes. Also, the new school freestyle is given a chance by many. Let's not call anything freestyle though, ok? Let's have more than 1 or 2 "elements" before we jump to call it freestyle. There's enough garbage being classified as freestyle (for having 1 or 2 elements) over the last few years.

Actually, many, including myself, don't want that damn planet rock beat. I get sick everytime I hear a new freestyle song use it. \

Also, if there isn't alot of new freestyle, that doesn't mean we should start calling any old club music freestyle either.

I agree with Free Elmo & Guido

The boundries of freestyle must be broaden or Freestyle Does Not Grow.

I agree that the sample of Amber's track referred to in this thread is definitely not freestyle. If they can send the accapella down to Canada, Germany or Brazil, I am sure a great job will be done adding a nice planet rock beat along with repetitive stutters and give it a nice freestyle transformation.

Having said that, many people outside of the USA are new to freestyle and love/appreciate the planet rock beat; especially when international dance hits are remixed in the 'electro', 'planet rock', 'breakbeat' and 'energetic two step' beats; they are now an intergral part of our freestyle sound.
