Nice to see you're still active in the business. How close is Sharyn Maceren to finishing her album? I sent a message to her a while ago on mp3.com. I was asking her if she needed any songs because I have one I wrote a while ago that seems to suit her style. I have more songs. Hook a (Filipino) brotha up!

I'm in So Cal. Email me. jarca307@corecomm.net

This Is Quite The Response!!!!

Kuya Franco, I'm sorry for not posting in some time but I've been out of the loop recently! We'll get back to that in a moment. First off, I wanna send out much love to the pinos that have replied within this post. I am 26 very young years old so please stop with the Kuya stuff...lol! I didn't grow up with much knowledge of my own culture but I'm learning more and more each day. I'm not fluent in any of the filipino dialects but once again I'm learning more and more each day. I grew up listening to freestyle and it is and always will be one of my true great passions! Unfortunately, I didn't grow up with many filipino friends but mainly had European friends that liked/loved freestyle. This post is definately the best that I've been a part of and have kept interest in! You guys have truly opened my eyes to our culture's contribution to this great passion we share in freestyle. The artist info on old, new and rising filipinos within the industry is extremely helpful and it gives me hope for the future of freestyle which seems to need a serious injection of original acts and material to perpetuate this genre. I believe that it's breakthrough time for the asian freestyle scene (especially filipinos) to open up the gates to the next generation of freestyle! So here's to us...

Angel, best of luck with you're career...We're looking for you! Thank you for opening up this post you've truly knocked down the internet barrier and made this a great medium for our peeps to come together!

Franco, We WILL hook up! Hamilton is only about 1 hour from Scarborough, I wanna know how to get hooked up with that freestyle collection of yours!

Ekin, I'm wondering if the site is gonna get back up and if it will be updated sometime soon (with pinoy freestyle!) Good luck bro!

Jason, Please get some of your material to Angel! So Dadgel can produce it, Franco can write about you guys and Ekin can promo it on his site! (NOT A BAD IDEA...HMMM...)

Finally Dadgel, Gosh what to say, some of the songs that you have been apart of have given me some great freestyle memories..."I Wanna Be The One", "Love Me For Life" nuff respect but my biggest props go out to your work with Buffy...We miss her work! She's my favorite female freestyle artist! Thank you for your ongiong contribution to the industry!

I've said enough...maybe we should ask for an "Asian Forum" on the main page...Might happen some day!
Good luck and God Bless always!

Ciao 4 Now!

wsup guys!

Jason- Thanks, I'm glad too. Sharyn is very close to having her album completed. I'm supposed to do (at least two tracks) and I should have them done by the end of this month.
Oh,you know what... Sharyn was having problems with her mp3
e-mail- so I was lucky to get a hold of her through an
e-mail addy from her website. You should join her Yahoo!club. I always seem to get to chat with her there.
Yeah, you should leave her a post about your music. I'm sure she'd love to hear it.

Franco Carlos- My latest productions will be found on Sharyn Maceren's upcoming album, "Always Dreamin".
It has been a quite a while since I've been really inspired to do some music but when I heard Sharyn's stuff online, I really felt like I wanted to work with her. Since I've met her, I can honestly say that she is one of the most talented people I have ever met.
She's actually helping me with a couple tracks on an album that I'm planning to do. As far as a tagalog freestyle song, I was seriously thinking of doing that as a duet with her. When/if that happens... I'll let you know.
Yeah, I've seen the previews for that movie, "The Debut". It looks cool. I wish we could all watch it together and have some halo-halo afterwards for dessert.

pinostyle- It's so nice to hear that you know (and respect) my work. Hopefully, I can bring you more in the near future.

to all of you... this has been a cool thread. Let's see how long it lasts.

hi dadgel,

i haven't had a chance to introduce myself but I just wanted to say that I'm a big fan of your work. I loved your stuff with Stevie B. but I really liked what you did with Buffy (Give Me, 2 Find U, and No One). I can't wait to hear what you're gonna do on Sharyn's album and on your own. Don't forget that all of us here (at least on this post) 😛 are here to support you!

take care,
angel lynn

I would like to add to Delicious D's comment, and say that there was actually a time when Mexico and the Phillipines were the same nation (when they were both part of la Nueva España). During that time, there was a ship called The Manila Galleon which would sail from Manila to Acapulco, and viceversa. The ship's main purpose was to transport spices between Mexico and the Phillipines, but inevitably many Filipinos ended up in Mexico, and many Mexicans in the Phillipines.
