Awww geee!!!!! Thanks Tank! It's cool to be thought of as a "success story".
Let me offer some advice......

I can officially say I'm lazy but I need to get off my FAT ASS and start to shed the pounds.
#1. Even if you are joking (and this goes for anyone, not just Tank) don't refer to yourself as "lazy" or "fat ass"....it is extremely negative, and it will put you in a negative frame of mind. To be successful, you have to be as positive as possible.

I'm thinking now I can't believe I ate this and that and i'm like this now!! What's one to do??
#2. DO NOT let yourself fall into the trap that you can only eat "certain" foods and have to ban the rest from your life. I will be honest with you....since the begining of December, I've eaten Stromboli, Perrogi, cheesecake, pizza, pasta, Christmas cookies, candy, chocolate cake, hot chocolate, rolls, fresh baked bread.....you name it, it's been in my mouth (watch it Tank! :nono). You can't make yourself feel guilty for what you ate, or want to eat. Allow yourself treats from time to time. If you try to avoid them all the time, it will only make you want that stuff more. As long as you are able to moderate what you eat, it will be ok.
#3. As much as everyone hates it (and that includes me) exercise is the way to take off weight. You need to burn more calories than you take in. Start out with only 15-20 minutes a day, 5 or 6 days a week. Always have 1 day of rest. Walking is a great form of exercise. Just make sure you keep a steady pace. A very slow pace isn't going to work. It is not necessary to run, but walk at a quick pace. I started out that way, I am now up to about 3 hours of working out a day. 45 minutes in the morning (workout video) an hour after work (weight training/cardio at the gym) and an hour at night before bed (walk/jog through the park)
#4. When you are ready to start, weight yourself, and measre with a tape measure what your size is. Every 2-3 weeks you should check. If you check too frequently, it will make it seem like the weight is coming off too slowly. If you check not frequently enough, it will make it hard to monitor your success.
I'm at a bit of a plateau right now. I've been at the 75lbs mark lost for about 4 months. I'm re-commiting myself to my original goal of losing a total of 115lbs. I've just registered for a class at the gym, twice a week, called "Butts, Guts, Core, & More" and bought a TaeBo ab video. I want to be down that last 40 or so pounds by spring of 2005.
Wish me luck!
I wish you all luck with whatever your resolutions for 2005 are!!!!
