Has anyone ever fallin in love with someone on the internet? Even if you have never met or spoken in person? Is it possible?

Good question Meya....I was very much interested in this guy from the internet, although I did meet him before the interest grew, I did not know exactly how to define what I felt, could not have been love, I did not know the man, was it love, was it infactuation, I dont know what it was, I still wonder.... I know of a few that has said it is love but can it really be that even if u have not met him/her?? Hmm, to grow feeling after meeting and getting to know the person is different and sometimes it can workout, but hmm there is always that if??? On the internet u get to know the inside of the person and there are many that u are like wow, its hard to believe but dam, again the 😕 are there!!!! You need to keep yourself in check with this internet world, cause it can hurt and at the same time it has been happiness to many!!!:hearton

PERSONALLY FOR ME NEVER BUT I THINK ITS POSSIBLE. ON THE NET ITS EASIER TO TALK TO A PERSON I MEAN DAMN THATS ALL YOU CAN DO LOL SO YOU OPEN YOURSELF UP MORE THE MORE YOU LEARN ABOUT A PERSON TEH MORE THE ATTRACTION GROWS. WHEN YOU FINALLY MEET BEARE OF THE EXPLOSION LOL YOU BUILD UP THIS LONGING TO SEE THEM ANSD WHE YOU FINALLY DO OH OH LOL 😀

That's exactly what I mean. You get to know the real person without being pursuaded by their looks. But what happens when you finally meet the person. And he or she's not what you had expected. Does it change everything you felt about the other person?

Yeah, I mean think about it! U meet the nicest guy, very courteous, well behaved, very romantic, writes poetry, speaks from the heart, treats the ladies like a queen, etc. etc. U finally decide to meet at some classy restaurant & he turns out to be some cigar smoking, fruit-of-the-looms tank top wearing, taxi-cab drivin', 300 pound boombaladdy with brown teeth & a slight stench.....yet he talks just as well in-person as he does online! What then ladies?!?!?!?!?!?!

That was funny. 😛 But not to that extreme. So I guess it's a good idea to meet the person before you feel you're getting to attached?

I met Bill via the Internet.....even though we both were not interested in each other we became fast friends which lead to best friends....and well you know the rest. So yes I think you can fall in love thru the internet. 🙂

But the plot thickens.......What if one of them is married!!!!!!! Then what do you call it? Is it OK for them to chat and get aquainted? When is it considered cheating???

Mmkay I said to myself that I wasn't gonna reply here but I can't help myself...So my apologies in advance if this offends anyone! I have much love and respect for everyone here that's a member of CF!

I will agree that you can develop very strong feelings for people on the internet. I myself have done it several times. It's never worked out.

The first couple of times was nothing compared to the very last time.

I met this guy in a chatroom on AOL. He said all the nice things that us ladies wanna here. BLAH BLAH BLAH! For 3 years I talked to this man and shared my life with him. Talked to him every single day on the phone. And when I didn't...he was out of town with his "work"
He told me that he was a professional kickboxer! 🙄

Without getting in to too many details here...when it came time to meet up...he didn't show...he just totally disappeared...wouldn't take my calls or anything. It broke my heart and shattered my belief in myself. Took me months to get over this and even today I still have my bad days.

I later found out that EVERYTHING he ever told me was a LIE! Every stinkin detail! When I found out the truth it was from a friend of his that had no idea what was going on.

1-he was married(unhappily and looking for a way to build his self-esteem...enter me the fool...my statement was to him and to every person thats unhappy in their marriage...get help from someone...do not go to the internet looking for answers...it will not help you.)

2-he wasn't a professional kickboxer...he was a restaurant manager

3-he wasn't really 32 he was and is now 43

4-he has 5 kids and not just 1(although he still claims its just 1)

5-when he told me that his house caught on fire and his son was in a coma...nope...didnt happen...it was just his excuse cuz his wife found out that he was "Playing" on the internet.

Don't believe everything someone tells you on the internet! Especially if you are looking to start a relationship with this person...keep it as a "Friend" thing until you meet in person.

Love hurts enough when you're dealing with it in real life...do not let it hurt you over someone you have not even met before! I've been there done that and its not a good thing! 🙁

Granted not everyone is like this man turned out to be but you can not fully trust someone until you meet them face to face! I blame myself for falling for his sweet words but I guess it's all about living and learning!
