So a Dunkin Donuts Store manager placed up on his wall a letter disbarring foreign language usage for Store Members.

A patron quoted saying, "Employees are in America, they should speak English only. Plus you never know if they are talking about you."

First off, the US was built on the backs of those who spoke many languages.

Two: You really have to be really naiive to actually think there are people out there that really care that much to spark up a conversation about you. To the woman who made that comment, you are a MORON.

reber my grand father had to learn english when he came to america in order to get a job so he want to england and spent time there before he moved to the U.S and came in through ellis island

in Gap when i would talk in spanish with one of the girls
the manager will get pissed at hell.. and give me the evil eye.. i would just laugh and once they walked away keep talkin in spanish

i think she's more concerned about the "you never know if they are talking to you" problem as opposed to the fact that "employees are in America" :lol

silly rule.. but still i love talking in foreign tongues in public, it's like secret languages

Like I said in the other thread, people need to grow up. Just because someone is using a language they don't understand, doesn't mean that they are talking about you.

Exactly, I liked it thought because I caught up on the language and I understand a bit, and I know the most importaint part of the language when you say hello or even goodnight. So yeah I mean they spoke it a lot, God knows what they were saying but that was my job, and they had to deal with me Speaking Spanish, with my customers

Fair is fair.

I saw this on the news yesterday and it was rather disappointing. I for one would never work in dunkin donuts because its too hot for me to work there. So i respect ALL those that are employes and I dont give a shit what they say in chinese, Indian or Klingon.

For real, I'm the same way.......if by any chance they were talking about me, they obviously didn't have the "balls" to tell me in English for me to understand.
