Hey kenny I think that could be put under freestyle, lol😉I was thinking of That one too, now we will hear how, that may not be considered freestyle because it is a ballad, which I in turn will consider a freestyle ballad..lol so come on peeps, I am sure there is a duet out there that came before this one. Ballad or not as long as it's freestyle.
 
well if we want to get technical on the edge i believe was the first freestyle duet. with the two artist singing, not doing background

George's & Brenda's "No Matter What" would be classified as a ballad.

"You Should Know By Know" wouldn't be a duet because Marc is doing background vocals, aside from the 4-line verse.

"Dreamboy/Dreamgirl" would, to me, better classify a duet because of the "equal" parts in the song. The song is basically split in half, between both parties.

I remember coming from Italy, to the Bronx, in the Summer of 1990 and hearing "Dreamboy/Dreamgirl".

In the summer of 1991 it was D'Zyres "Forever Amor".

if they were in the group before, during and after, then its not a "duet".
 
I like Forever AMour, that song was good. "You should know by now" I consider a duet, even if he only dang a few lines😉

I understand what your saying Kenny, if they are in a group then all thier songs are sung together, but I don't think that they ever made another song like that, BUT, I could be wrong.
