To use or not to use a condom

I feel if you are not in a stable relationship, I mean been married
years or like common law marriage or just been with the person for a long time (5yrs +) then you should use a condom..

I was watching this show on BET, dont know the name of it, but so many people are still not using condoms. With so much shit out there why would you not use a condom. Its like playing russian roulette. Just think you are actually sleeping with all the people that person sleep with and if that person you sleep with lies to you and tells you "oh Im clean, I just got tested and dont have shit" and you go ahead and believe them, you are stupid.

I have many friends that found out the hard way. Hell even some married people should protect if they feel their mate is cheating. And if they say no dont use it, then you just tell them you aint down with it. We need to spread the word about that and maybe we wont lose an entire generation of people just because they didnt think before getting that groove on.

Dont get me wrong, you can still get your groove on but use common sense. Dont forget about Jimmy. I got kids and I have already told them if they feel ready to go out and do it I will make sure they have condoms. I dont feel comfortable admitting that but I know when I was a teenager I did it and unfortuantely I was stupid most of the time, believe the shit I was told till I caught something. Lucky it was before AIDs was here and I am lucky it was curable.

What you really need to do is get a 6 foot roll of saran wrap and wrap yourself in it before you go out and have sex. Seriously, I agree with mami chula, a lot of people aren't being careful and they need to be.

chao$, you're young not a kid. There's a difference...someone young is chronologically low on the age scale, someone who is a kid is immature in mentality. You're not a kid, you respect people, you show it in your words...(although seeing "many" things does not really make you a grown up, it's how you deal with it that makes you a man or woman)

Ok heres my theory

Not that I dont believe in using condoms because I do definitely. But Safe sex is a myth in all reality. consider the following scenario. you meet a girl in a club or out somewehre and u guys really hit it off..shes bangin got it goin on in all the right places. So after a while you get her i your crib..and maybe its excitement or infatuation whatever..u just know that you really want her and she wants u so yall go into the bedroom and start getting all hot and bothered. Your about to put it in when she tells you"oh wait, here put this on(hands a condom) because Im HIV+" Are you still gonna go through with it? No Of course not. But the message we send when we sleep with someone we dont know very well and justify it by using a condom is "well its ok if she is sick because I have a condom on" but if u knew for sure that person was sick u wouldnt even bother. Moral of the story......of course always be protected! but a condom is no replacement for a good few months of getting to know someone..be safe kids!😀

I can appreciate your feelings on the subject Liz..and I too have seen family and friends fall victim to the virus. I in no way meant the story to offend anyone and Im sorry if i did. The unfortunate truth is that one of the consequences of AIDS/HIV is that noone would have tried to go for her if they knew she was positive....which is the reason I told the scenerio in the first place., Because people need to protect themselves agaisnt such consequences as much as possible and not simply think that a condom will make everything Ok. A condom,which is always a good idea, is no replacement for familiarity and good judgement.

I forgot to say that , your right there is much education needed to combat the ignorance that promotes prejudice and insensitivity towards people with HIV in our society. I wasnt trying to contribute to that ignorance just trying to say that people should be smart as to who they are intimate with.
