THE CONCEPT OF LOVE DIED?
FREESTYLE WAS ONE OF THE MOST EMOTIONAL FORMS OF MUSIC IMAGINEABLE BUT AS SOCIETY PROGRSSED THE CONCEPTS OF LOVE AND HOOR BEGAN TO DETERIORATE IN FAVOR OF PLACING THE BLAME ON THE NEXT PERSON.

GEORGE LAMOND AND CYNTHIA WERE REPLACED BY JENNY JONES AND JERRY SPRINGER,,,SHOCK REPLACED ROMANCE...IN MY OPINION...IS THIS WHAT HELPED LEAD FREESTYLE TO IT'S COMMERCIAL DEMISE?

IT PROBABLY SOUNDS STUPID BUT DOES THE HEART MATTER MORE THAN THE WALLET?

OR AM I JUST A SENTIMENTAL FOOL?

A FREESTYLE THOUGHT

love or money, HMMMM...thats a hard one...do i want a hot guy in my bed or my wallet full???? tough call!!!!! 😀

I agree with Kenny Guido. Hip Hop did steal the spotlight. When Hot 97 stopped playing freestyle and totally progressed to Hip hop and R&B it hurt freestyle so much.

unfortunately.....there's more to that than hip-hop "stealing" the spotlight. and yup, in this world its all about the mulah, benjis, dead presidents, papes, dinero, yen, dollar$...

peaceouttie,

WE all gave up on freestyle in one way or or another. i mean, our hands were tied. no matter how much we tried calling HOT 97 back in the day to request for more and more freestyle, they less they would play it. freestyle's demise was inevitable.

ALL music dies out eventually. it is ultamately born into somethin else if it is adored that much. (hint-hint.......its up to us to give it a second life.......)

I ALSO AGREE WITH KENNY.BACK IN THE DAY HOT 97
WAS HOT 103(AT LEAST THATS WHAT I REMEMBER) AND AFTER A WHILE YOU COULDNT GET YOUR REQUEST. THE LAST SONG I REMEMBER REQUESTING,ACTUALLY TWO SONGS WERE THE QUESTION AND DREAM BOY DREAM GIRL. 🙁

BLING BLING!! LOL....KA-CHING! $$$$$, bread, dough...
