It's not even about stars. When a game is low scoring, it proves how great the defense is and how amazing the goal tending is. Before we had Brodeur, the Devils had Chris Terreri. Plus we have Stevens, Neidermayer, Danekyo, Pandolfo, Gomez, Nwendyk, White, etc etc. I mean hey the decisive and first goal in last nights game came from Mike Rupp who was a call up from the minors. Talkabout career goal! Also there's Langenbrunner, Friesen....I can go on and on.
I'm not one to agree on making the nets bigger. I say keep it theway it is. Sports go through there ups and downs and hockey was really big at one point, I'm sure it will have a surge again.
But the teams with no "star" such as the Devils work together like a well oiled machine. They must be something right if they can be so successful without spending a fortune on big name players.
