I would have to go with Change on me on this one, Although India's Right from the start would have been a better comparrison.

Mirage? Mirage? That was definately the wrong choice for a poll. India has been a favorite of mine since i was first heard her. I remember when I bought her 'Dancing on the Fire' lp and I was like "wow that girl can sing". As a vocalist, she definately wins. Now, don't get me wrong, Cynthia is great too. She also is a very talented lady with a beautiful melodic voice and her FREESTYLE career has been enduring and very successful. But India- to say that her career has not been international- maybe not as a freestyle singer, but come on, she is La Princesa de la salsa and many times in articles or interviews i have seen references to her freestyle. I know a few people that were turned onto freestyle because of her...

i agree. this is really a odd comparision. india has a great voice and a spectacular range. cynthia has a sweet sultry voice. its like comparing marc anthony and grorge lamond. we love them both but they are not in the same league. each one offers there own special talent. you can't be a freestyle head and not love cynthia and as a singer myself i can't deny that india has great range and can sing the hell out of a song.

I definitely will go with Cynthia, besides her being my favorite female artist, Change On Me is one of my favorite freestyle songs of all time.

Actually if you want to talk about "International appeal branding and longevity", that is not true - India has had a LOT more success and longevity in the music industry than Cynthia. ANd freestyle was never huge on an international level. The truth is, at it's hottest point it was biggest in the major US markets - NY, Chicago, Florida, Texas and California. Freestyle was not a worldwide sensation - that is unfortunate, but it is a fact.

While both are great artists in their own way, India has gone on to Multi Platinum WORLD WIDE SUCCESS as the salsa sensation known as "La India"....Cynthia might have had two or three indie singles here and there since her peak of fame, and is very talented but in the recording industry La India is on a major latin label and is a much bigger international success. It may not be freestyle, but the word "longevity" means long lasting - and both India and Marc Anthony have changed with the times and outlasted every other freestyle artist...
