I would luv to hear a George Lamond and Cynthia sing Dreamboy Dreamgirl. Dont get me wrong, i luved the song as is but i'm curious to see how much better George Lamond would make the song. If the song does well over the radio, it could introduce new fans to Freestyle and bring some more support to Freestyle music.
Im a huge George Lamond fan. I am also a big fan of that Johnny o/Cynthia song. I think it would work out well both ways. George Lamond can sing basically anything. The chances of him screwing up the song are 0 to 100. Like for example, before i ever heard "i want you back" by George Lamond originally by j5, i said to myself that he just did not have the voice to sing it and i was jumping into my own conclusions thinking that was the reason why his second album was a total failure. until i finally found the song on napster and heard it. As it turns out, this guy can do a pretty good reindition of "i want you back" from a kids voice in the 60's......wow, thats something else. So if he can do a hell of a good performance on that song then why wouldnt he be perfect for this song. I say if Johnny o can't make it to the studio to record dreamboy/dreamgirl, then bring on G.L.
I hear she is remaking the song unforunately, the new mix is being produced by Victor "I'll get you a deal with Sony" Franco. Couldn't they find a producer who has a more modern style? This guy is lost in the 80's.
Cynthia and Johnny-O will always live on. We just have to remember them always and never put the original Dreamboy/ Dreamgirl away. A remake is not bad. People like to hear new sh*t but a duet with George Lamond (as much as i love his voice and music) I don't think it would be a good idea.
You know who it should be????? On the real, It should be
Charlie Rock. Just listen to his song "Missing You". His voice is up there. Don't you love that song. I'm listening to it right now but I seriously think he should do it........by the way, where is he? They gotta find him first in order to make the duet.......lol.

Hector, You got a point. Creativity is fashion and Freestyle needs some of that. There shouldn't be any re- makes. If we want new people to join the Freestyle Industry, we need new music. The re-makes are only going to bring the same fans instead of bringing new people.
Same people-even better but they need new lyrics, you see what I'm saying???????

I still hear "Dreamboy/Dreamgirl" Cynthia/Johnny O on the top 40 radio station back home (springfield,MA)--it's a hartford station ... maybe the new version will get some airplay if it's marketed right.
Let's put it this way i personally never heard a re-make of a song that sounded good the second time around especially if you are changing the original singers. I like the way Johnny O, and Cynthia sound together. They both have that same kind of voice except male and female........ 🙂bnl
...and I'll say it again. Nothing against George, but it has to be with Cynthia and Johnny O or forget about it. I have had too many songs I loved get remade only to find the song butchered, or just ruined. Perfect example "Silent Morning" by Noel. This song is off da hook, and NU-Style comes along and remakes it. And I HATE it. The vocals are off and forced. There's no emotion in the voice except "boy do I not want to sing this song". The beats were ok, but overall it made me sad and now everytime I hear Silent Morning I can kinda hear the remake in my head polluting the song. It ruined it for me. remaking songs is like bad karaoke!
A duet with Senior Lamond would be kewl as long as it's not Dreamboy/Dreamgirl , I think the Remake by Rockell and Adam Marano bur me in the tought of another slaughter of this Classic, Nuff Said
